It says in my post that I am lifting weights- doing squats , box jumps, lunges, etc. I am only asking what would be best when using the treadmill. I love this site- but I will never understand how people always feel the need to correct you, no matter what you ask. I even took the time to write that I am lifting weights but…

What does RDL stand for? And thank you for the detailed answer, I will be sure to try some of your suggestions

It doesn't matter which way I word it- someone will feel the need to "correct" me.. gain muscle or not. So that's why it was taken out.

Thank you for your insight!

Thank you for the insight and suggestions. Anyone else know of a program that would be worth checking out?
-
I'm not new to strength training, i have been lifting weights for 12 years- but just to stay fit- never to gain mass. I don't want that. So I guess I would consider myself more on the intermediate level- is it still worth checking out this program?
-
Have you had success with that program or??
-
thank you!

They were really nice, and surprisingly very short- all of them. Just sat around and had drinks- pretty chill

Mainly musicians for me....and I have met and spoken with them all.. or just got drunk together haha.. I wouldn't put them on my list if I just "saw them" Serj Tankian & John Dolyman (System of a Down) Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) Marilyn Manson CCR Kerry King & Slayer Band Tragically Hip Kool and the Gang Gordie Johnson (Big…

Scrambled egg whites topped with at least a half a cup of hot sauce! YUMM. I love hot sauce. Scrambled egg whites in a whole wheat wrap with lots of spinach, pepper, and just a bit of light mayo for flavor. Hard Boiled egg whites with mustard- if I have calories left then I will add half a yolk or so into the mix.

ahh.. I see when you're saying. I have done quite a bit of research..and a lot of people say that legs should be worked more than once a week.. just in regards to the sheer amount of muscles in the leg- and I agree. So that's why the two a week Legs. Shoulders are still getting some good work, but they just won't have…

I would if I could dedicate 5 days to the gym. But at this moment I'm not sure if I can, so that's why I am trying to do a 4 day split.. with legs&shoulders together. I don't want to set myself up for failure.

I usually stop because I get so freakin bored and decide after about 20 minutes that I would rather be doing sprints instead of just a straight boring run.

Thanks everyone!

I NEED music when I workout! I mostly listen to heavy metal when I'm lifting or running. ie. Pantera, Meshuggah, Danzig, Lamb of God, etc. When I stretch I take it down a notch and listen to something a little more calming.. like. Moby, Massive Attack, or some relaxing Indian Sitar music.

I think you're on the right track. I myself don't like to eat before I work out, I would rather work out with an empty stomach, after the gym I have a protein shake also to aid in recovery.

WTF??? That just doesn't sound right dude.

Ok, I choose fat loss!! I guess I should just focus on the 15lbs before I try to gain any muscle. So will my program still work for that>? Or do I need to change it completely and focus more on cardio/Interval training?
-
When it comes to training experience.. I would say I am quite experienced, I have been athletic my whole life, and lifting weights for 10+ years, I run alot-10k's and half marathons.. So I'm not new to training. As for time constraints- I am thinking a 12-week window.. that would be ideal for me to see the results that I…

Ok, well I would like to lose 15lbs... but that doesnt matter as much as Body Fat % to me.. I am about 24% now, and would like to be at 18%.. so muscle gains are important to me. I am physically active already (I lift and run regularly but am not currently following a specific routine), but I want to kick it up a notch and…
-
My goal is just overall fitness.. I only have about 15lbs to lose, but I would really like to gain some more muscle while dropping fat.. that's why I'm doing lower reps/heavier weights. I'm in fairly good shape now, but I really would like to kick it up a notch.

I've now added dips, and pull-ups (assisted..) to my program , thanks! I have realized that compound exercises are going to be more beneficial for me than the isolation exercises that I had.

Great suggestion! For those exercises I will do my last set to failure. Thank you

Thanks for your input. I like to have a plan to follow at the gym- over the years this is what has worked best for me. I find when I don't follow a routine I end up not seeing the same kind of results because my training is all over the place.
