FitBit Calories Burned

Just a quick question- I have had my FitBit for about 8 months now and it says that on average I am burning about 2600 calories a day. If I understand correctly- this is my TDEE and my daily caloric burn combined. Does this number seem excessively high?? or does it sound about right? I just want to know so that I can adjust the calories that I am taking in and possibly lose a few pounds, thanks!

Your Fitbit is estimating your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE), as in total-- BMR, exercise, brushing teeth, all of it.

2600 sounds feasible if you're young and/or active and/or large and/or tall. Plug your profile data into any online TDEE estimator and see if spits out anything close to 2600.

Or log your food for several weeks or months and see if your weight loss is about what you'd expect, given the deficit the Fitbit says you have. If you've been logging regularly you can tell from your past data now. E.g., if you eat around 2100 calories a day and lose around a pound a week, then 2600 sounds right since that would give you the deficit that would cause that rate of weight loss.
