I want my Dad to get better but that is not going to happen. Money would be nice. I'm tired of working my backside off at 51 just to pay the bills

You have done fantastically well:) Wishing you a good year with less stress this year.

Gorgeous :)

You look lovely - great job :)

Wow - your beauty is shining through girl! Very well done to you :)

Brilliant. You look great

Well done! It sounds like you are eating really healthily. Many congratulations.

Convert your anger into determination. Do not let anyone, anything or any event divert you from your goal. Persevere through all setbacks. Log every single thing you eat. Don't bother with fad diets and pills. Spend that money on good food for yourself. Count calories. It works. Eat enough protein. Do some exercise. I lost…

I believe it is loose skin. I have lost about 45lb and have it on my thighs, stomach and arms. It looks terrible. My body definitely looked better before I lost the weight, but I really had to lose it because of back/joint problems.

Hi. My problems are osteoarthritis of knees, left hip, arthritis in both hands and both feet, and damage to my back causing lower back pain. I am reluctant to do heavy exercise because of this. Weight loss has helped a lot.

Firstly, you don't need to spend any more money at all. I didn't, because I don't have any to spare, and I have lost over 3 stone. I presume the "support" you speak of is your partner. You can do it without their explicit support - once you are determined to do it, nothing will stop you. Just persevere, eat well, record…

If you packed the cigs in Joe, you really can do this :)

My Rheum doc told me to take a glass of ACV with water every day for my inflammatory arthritis a year ago. I did it and still do. I don't know whether it aids weight loss or not. I counted calories to lose weight.

That is utterly ridiculous. You look great. The thing is, in some places, people are used to people being fat - the average size of a young woman walking around the shops near me is about 200lb. If everyone looks like that, they think it's normal.

I have some more that I have heard in the last week. Please allow me to get them off my chest: "You can't keep your face and figure after 50 you know!" (Thanks for that one) "Careful, you might get "gaunt" (really, when I have cheeks like a hamster?) "You were never fat in the first place" (I was obese actually) "You…

Thanks so much :)

Very interesting thread - "just have one". Why do people do this? They also do it when you are teetotal or have packed up cigarettes. (I have done these two). Is it because they want you to be like them? What is wrong with them? "Don't get too skinny" - I got this one today. I am 5'7'' and 150lb and built like a barn door.…

Well done Kellee - I love to see this - a young person getting a grip early on - fantastic to see :)

Hi OP. I can relate to you. In February I was clinically obese at 194lb. I am now about 154lb. I have aged ten years with that weight loss - especially my face, legs and arms. I am 51 and not in menapause yet. I look at a pic of my face (in my profile photos) taken a year ago and can't believe that was me. I look like an…

Wow! Brilliant :)

I know when others have lost weight it reminded my of my not doing so. :( I think the next breath remark does indicate they agree with one's weight loss in their minds. When one is escaping from being overweight some just want to pull them back down it seems. Until recently I felt I was fat because I was a bad person. Now…

I do think it is genetics and age. My husband is like this. I cook his food and we also work together all day, so I know what he eats - about 3500 calories a day minimum. But he is 6'3", young and muscular with very little body fat, and I am 51 and not muscular, so I need an awful lot less. There is a downside for him - if…

I like tall, blond haired blue-eyed men whose bottom is not bigger than mine :)

Nothing in moderation

Gorgeous! Love your wedding pic as well :) well done - so inspirational. You said "I didn't make time to care for myself" - that, to me, is what it's about: once we realise that, we are on the right road :)
-
Good luck! You are only 30! That's well young. You can do it :) Oh, and cocktails to help you sleep? Been there in the past :( Nah - find the root of the issue and address it. I sympathise about the fiance - my husband is super fit, slim, and much younger than me. He can eat anything he wants, and a lot of it. I can't eat…

Hello! You can do it. I lost 40lb this year through MFP. So many knowledgable people here. I would suggest you fill out your profile so people know a bit about you.

I have lost about 40lb and my bust was previously UK 38ff (big!) and I am now UK 34d. Very much smaller.

It's a complicated thing when we change. Often, others are not comfortable with it as it brings their own choices into question, because they are insecure. I have come across the attitude that your MIL is displaying, but thankfully not from members of my own family. People have told me not to lose any more weight, that I…

You are only 45! I wish I had addressed my weight and drinking then instead of waiting until I hit 50. I dumped the alcohol completely - best decision ever - then lost the weight. I wanted to be healthy as well as lose weight I feel like a new person and so will you. I wouldn't think about the half your bodyweight thing -…
