To add to my already established redneckness, my mother is a truck driver and my brother is retired Marine Corps working on the railroad. Yes, I am from the backwoods. Thank you very much.

I kid you not, my father is a Rodeo Clown. He wears purple tights and baggy pants with red suspenders. One of his bits involves the dropping of said baggy pants revealing the purple tights. The crowd loves it everytime even though the majority of them have seen it numerous times I am sure. Being the Rodeo Clown aka funny…

You sir are a smile-inspiring breath of fresh air in what otherwise was looking to be a gloomy Thursday. After the day I had yesterday (Who knew Wednesday was the new Monday?) this is exactly what was needed. Thank you so much. You are pretty terrific. Just sayin'!  :flowerforyou: :smooched: …

I'm thinking part time sounds amazing. Spent the weekend in Myrtle Beach. Trying to figure out how to be a Myrtle Beach resident full time. Seriously considering living on a park bench and eating out of dumpsters. Lol!

You are always so positive. Love it!

Your wedding, your etiquette. If you want one, do it.

Definitely my Polar FT7 HRM first and foremost, but then MFP is a close second.

That picture should be on a baby shower card somewhere. They are too stinking adorable. Congratulations.

Very true kick in the pants. Thanks for keeping it real. :drinker:

You can create your own exercise. That's what I decided to do. If you wear a heart rate monitor, you can log your actual calories burned. Zumba instructors claim you burn up to 800 calories per hour. I have found this to be a little exaggerated as I burn approximately 550 calories per hour myself. If you don't wear a heart…

My Zumba instructor has recently incorporated toning sticks in her classes. They are working because the day after a class, I can really feel it in my arms, shoulders, and back. My legs have gotten wicked tone just from the class itself and my time on the elliptical and treadmill, but now my upper body is getting some…

Bump stands for Bring Up My Topic (or so I've been told). It serves two purposes. It takes the thread back to the top of the message board in hopes to expose it to more people in an effort to get as much information as possible. Every time someone else "bumps", it goes back to the top. So I could come in here 2 days from…

OK, well duh me. I created it under my own exercises, but do not have the option of adding it to the database like you can food. That sucks. Well, anyway, I wore my HRM for the last two weeks, and here are my numbers just as a starting point for anyone that is interested. 4/11/11 - 1:03:33 - 534 calories 4/18/11 - 0:59:37…

I added Zumba to the database last week. I've been using the entry I loaded. Can no one else see it?

I get them on the treadmill, and now since I have been getting them while running, have started having shin pains during Zumba. I have changed shoes and am making sure to stretch before and after exercising, and they are slowly but surely getting better. I could take a week off and probably recover completely, but my fear…

I wore mine all day right after I got it (on a non-exercise day) to establish a base line and compare it to MFP's estimate of what my typical day should be.

This joint needs a "LIKE" button. Hope everyone has a terrific day.

I notice mine, but it's not a bothersome notice. It's a positive recognition. This thing has honestly become a beloved friend. The chest strap is kind of wet and nasty when I finish working out, but I find that fact reassuring in that I worked out hard like I should be. I have started wearing the watch part all day as a…

Fergie, TI, Matchbox 20, Michael Jackson, The Temptations, Van Halen, Kid Rock, KC & the Sunshine Band...yes, I'm varied.

the zumba one is pretty close to real if you do it correctly and don't cheat.

Thank you for your feedback. All opinions are welcome here.

While not trying to fit myself, I am just interested in opinions. What brand do you find you prefer? Just looking for a starting point. Is there any brand that you would recommend we stay away from?

I have just started running myself in the past couple of weeks. I have always been elliptically minded. I decided if I was going to see the results I want to see, I'm gonna have to start doing something different because the elliptical wasn't cutting it. So I've been running (best Forrest Gump impression). At first, I was…

I had to ask, too. From what I have been told, bump moves the topic to the top of the recent posts so more people can continue to be exposed because yes, the "bumper" is also interested and the more people that respond, the more information or opinions you will receive. When you are the "bumper" this topic will now also be…

Speaking of which, I am very glad they were out of the FT4, because the FT7 is awesome for my needs. You may want to look into some of the others that offer the VO2 max measurement. This one does not, but I haven't found that I need it.
