  • i'm in...need this
  • I have been thinking about this for the past for months. A couple of years ago i joined MFP, lost wt, fell of the wagon and put it all on again. But, I have mostly been quite thin most of my adult life and only after 2 kids, put on around 15 lbs of excess lbs. When i was 96 lbs (i'm barely 5'1"), i ate everything i wanted…
  • Mine are low (blood test), if I take a multi vitamin + iron for 2-3 days i feel better, but the multi makes me feel nauseous. I have to take it in between a meal, and i keep forgetting... I have started cooking several foods in a cast iron pot, not sure if that helps. if you take too much turmeric, it lowers the iron level…
  • From Houston as well, welcome!
  • Going super slow. Mainly because I cant eat below 1200 net. Goal is 0.25lbs/week. It can get frustrating as scale doesnt move much, but I track data over months and see a downward trend. That is OK with me at this point.
  • Indian (east Indian) food has a lot of options. We eat lentils almost every day in some way or form, beans, chickpeas. They are cooked with lots of onion, garlic and spices...I would not miss meat at all.
  • I bank and pre log. Treat it like just another food. Key is staying within what you logged!
  • Originally from India, live in the US
  • Me too, not 00 but from 0 to now 8. 2 kids and a decade...oh well, aiming to get fit and less heavy. Current goal is 118lbs, I got there about a year ago, let go, back in the process..oh well.
  • 5' 1", hovering around 126 -127lbs, 1200 net calories. I could not do 1200 total, so I aim to get a bit of activity in to be able to eat more. Currently eating around 1450, but not losing much, have to reduce a bit more or bump up my activity
  • me. Will happily live just of carbs. Trying reducing potion sizes, and staying within calorie limits. It can be done:)
  • 5'1", lowest I was was maybe around 95, after 2 kids, current wt 128. Lost some wt on MFP a couple yrs ago, stopped logging, gained most back. Oh well, starting over. Extra challenging for us as the calorie requirement is so tiny, its so easy to overeat. Trying to be more mindful, and back logging
  • Me too. 5'1", lost wt in 2013, managed to gain most of it back. On round 2 I guess. Maintaining it for me is more difficult that losing...seems to me like as long as there was a goal, motivation was easier. Once I got there, i started letting go. Oh well, time to restart
  • Struggling here. Lost some, gained most of it back. No time to plan meals, workout etc, work full time and long commute. Trying to fit in workouts at lunchtime, if not it will never happen! The calorie counting works very well, I came close to my goal wt by logging every single miserable calorie. But then life happens and I…
  • Sounds too familiar...a year ago I lost a bunch of wt, was happy with where I was and then life happened. Doing it all over again, with limited ability to workout etc. oh well, Like another poster said, control what you can. i have a boatload of excuses, but only when i accepted that things are never doing to be the…
  • What is your weight now? I am 5'1" as well and my calorie goal given by MFP for 0.5 lb loss/week is 1200.
  • I have the same problem...i am only 5'1", so things that are rounding errors for others can become significant for me. I lost a bunch of wt a couple of years ago by logging every morsel, then, life took over and i gained everything back. i dont think i significantly overate, but even small variances, or indulgences (one…
  • Go to the gym, even if it is for 20 min
  • I will log what I eat, focus on the here and now, and keep my patience. get through today without any tears. Will drink more water
  • This is the lowest pt in my life so far, and i've had some pretty bad lows...need to climb back up. So just for today, I will log what I eat, focus on the here and now, and keep my patience. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
  • Same situation here, I'm very petite and my husband (and I ) love to eat out. But, if you put some thought into what you are ordering, and make to go boxes your best friend, its not that bad. IMO, You should incorporate what you like to do for the whole weight loss thing to be sustainable
  • Here is one reason not to: I was weighing myself a lot, and whether it was a good day or bad depended on what the scale said. One day the silly thing broke, I changed batteries performed CPR and what not, but it just stopped working. Well, i replaced it the very next day, and the new one says i'm 3 lbs heavier... I've now…
  • Thanks, you look great!
  • 39 :'( , working mom of two boys. Have a bit of wt to lose, hoping to drop it before I turn 40 next april and get as healthy as I can.
  • I'm on 1200, but I am only 5' 1" barely, and have a desk job. I do eat back my exercise calories, and go a bit (around 100) over on other days as well. My rate of loss is also set low, 0.5lbs/ wk. However 1200 is a challenge as there is so little wiggle room, and lot things said here, "eat what you like and make it fit" is…
  • It really depends, doesn't it? I gained 25 lbs over 2 pregnancies and it took me up 3-4 sizes! :'(
  • Last year I started exercising, and I gained wt. I was not tracking what I was eating, atleast not counting calories, and felt hungry all the time to the point I stopped going to the gym. This was my first attempt ever to lose wt since it was never an issue before. This time, since I am older and wiser:), (read have MFP )…
  • 5'1" here, 100-105 looked good on me, but that was long ago, before kids. At 119 (down from 126) now, current goal is 110 and will re assess
  • Mommy to a 3 yr old and 6 yr old, full time job, 1 hr (one way) commute, husband who travels for several weeks at a stretch....all of which used to be excuses, and now are the reasons i want to be fitter!
  • OP, I noticed that you mostly eat Indian food, I am originally from India as well and eat homemade Indian food, esp for dinner. There are quirks with Indian homemade food and getting accurate calorie count is tricky, even with homemade food and serving size etc. My stats and age are different from yours, but you can add me…
