yes do! They are ouchie when you are on them but the relief can be immense sometimes afterwards! I've just done mine to a Runtastic YouTube instructional :) I was given clamshells to do at the gym. Got some foam rolling and stretching boards over on Pinterest if there's anything there for you…

I wish I knew the answer, but having just done my first real run since my Harvel 5 at the beginning of June and thinking everything had healed up, got unknotted or whatever, my right hip flexor (makes a change from the left!!), left hip(? gave it a poke, it's right by the bone at the outside top of my left leg) and right…

Today: "your portion sizes are too big". I am dismissing it. I've lost 40 lbs, it's working for me!

I've been reading a couple of magazines here in the UK that have women lifting barbells and deadlifting them :) They are the ones I've cut out to stick in my notebook :)

LOL!

Loved seeing everyone's progress. Dec 2010. 212 pounds. March 2012. Around 183 pounds.

Cheetos! They're not Cheetos, they're Wotsits! And it's jam, not jelly, and jelly not jello

If you walk on the pavement in the UK you're in the right place, if you walk on the pavement in the US you could get run down  I used to use the word 'nought' for zero. Got teased relentlessly for that when I attended junior high for a year when we lived in Michigan. Everyone, maths (or should I say math!) teacher…

love it! Very well done!

bump for later

I'd say, "keep going!" , don't give up now! I'm 44. I started the gym last January at around 212 pounds, firstly cardio, then adding strength with cardio. I remember being disheartened for months but after 6 months I started to see changes and by 9 months others were starting to notice. 15 months later and I get alot of…

You're all amazing! Love starting my day seeing successes! Here's mine, from 2007 to 2010 to 2013. Jogger to fat to gym fit

Good job Lee, big differences there!
-
that's fantastic! Well done

you're welcome. Like you I've been SO distracted and lost sight of what I have achieved week in week out just because the scale says I'm up on my last reading. I have weighed most days for a whole year, but why? I never get on thinking "it's gonna be a good one!", it's just torture nine times out of ten!

You just made my day even better, thanks!

thanks for the comments and I'm glad it's helped some of you. Interestingly, before I put those photos together, I was thinking I'd like to lose the same amount again that I've already lost (28 pounds...or 25 if you count my recent gain!) I'm not so sure this is my goal anymore. In fact, it's made me start reconsidering my…

I just posted before and after photos on the Success board. I eat at a 10 to 20% cut from my TDEE and sometimes up to TDEE and although the quality of what I eat has improved I do still eat chocolate and other junk, just in moderation. I've been doing this since last summer when I started to think "this eating more and…

this is good! If I could go back I'd change quite alot for the years during which I raised my two teens (I don't regret parenthood for a single minute, but I do think I let myself go and didn't realise the importance of looking after myself as wekll as them), but I'm just glad I am where I am now, much wiser and with more…

I have quite a few. But off the top of my head: Fix You by Coldplay Hall of Fame by The Script and Will.i.am , 'cos you can do anything if you try :)

My other half isn't the least bit interested, but he did join me (once!) and I didn't mind at all. In fact I preferred it, takes your mind off the burn, someone to talk to. Maybe if I wore skimpier workout gear he'd join me more often, but I prefer not to see what I'm trying to lose

5 months and a bit for me :)

Cross trainer is as good as any other cardio machine in my opinion. It's how you use it. I use it for a warm up or cool down, if I'm a bit stiff, or I use it for interval training. There's lots you can do for interval training....alter your speed, the resistance, whether you use your arms or not, or you can alter the…

I didn't know this! Thanks! :)

you two look amazing! I'm happy today because every now and again you look at your photos and see that it's all worthwhile :) Summer 2012 and now:

wow, great post. Nice way of thinking! I've lost 25 pounds, that's one pound light of carrying around two Virgin Atlantic hand luggage cases!
-
oh my goodness, so glad I found this. Happened to me this morning in body balance, at the end during relaxation. So glad I'm not the only one! It was very weird!
-
you have done waaay better than me in the same time frame in terms of clothing sizes, and I'm still here, taking each day as it comes (I try not to think about how long it would take me!) Just keep doing what you're doing, sounds like you have some good support from your trainer like I do.

without a doubt, belly and hips, I can live with the rest of me :)

have a funny feeling that might be me! :blushing: I get by on a chocolate protein shake every week day and I can make a handful of Cadbury Giant Buttons from the fridge last over half an hour in the evening by taking little nibbles, whilst hub scoffs his down in minutes! I'm also rather partial to Nutella on ricecakes or…
