Never underestimate a goat! They are nasty. :-) It might be worth carrying pepper spray or something, huh? That's really scary.

I also have a real issue with people bringing their dogs/animals into shopping centers and stores with them (with the exception of PetSmart or similar stores, of course). I love animals and grew up with pets, but I sadly developed allergies in my 20's. Now dogs and cats can send me into fits of sneezing and wheezing or…

My 2 cents: You need to address this directly with him, tell him how it's made you feel, and explain to him that you are hoping for support in this journey. Be honest, be raw, and open and talk to him. That's the only way to make these things better. Communication is key. Stifling feelings leads to all kinds of bad things,…

Just like dawnhart said! You really enjoyed the job, and learned some great skills, but are seeking a better Work/Life Balance, to be closer to family, etc.

I work with a lot of recruiters in my job. I'm a career counselor. One of the major no-no's in a job interview is speaking badly about a past employer. Never, ever do that. Recruiters hate to hear someone bashing another company, manager, etc. It's just the rule of HR. Find a way to turn your experience into a positive.…

Exercise, reduce salt/caffeine, and get your rest! That helps with many of those dreaded symptoms. And remember, it takes your body time to adjust to those sudden changes, so be patient and don't give up.

My resting heart rate ranges around 60/65 BPM typically. It depends on stress levels, sleep, hormone levels, etc. And it changes with age. "The National Institutes of Health state that 60 to 100 beats per minute is considered normal for a resting pulse rate. Any female over 10 years of age should fall within this resting…

Ah, the dreaded plateau! First, congratulations on losing 30 pounds! That's fabulous. Here's what I've heard from others who have busted through the plateau issue: Try adding more strength/interval training (P90X will definitely do it) and maybe even zig-zagging your calories. You know, eat a little higher 2 days per week,…

There are armbands of all sizes and shapes, and yes they have one that will fit your phone AND your arm. I have giant arms, for some reason that's a body part that just stays big on me. When I first got my phone armband, I just put it around my forearm instead of my upper arm. It works fine. And it has a pouch for your ID…

Food addiction functions just like any other addiction, so why would a 12-step program seem funny? It's a well-respected program and supports millions of people around the world. It's certainly not for everyone, but it's a good method for food addictions.

I'm ashamed to say...this made me laugh out loud!

People want a quick fix and the easy answer. Many people don't want to hear "eat less, exercise more, sleep enough, take care of your body, plan your meals, weigh and measure, etc. etc. They want to know if they cut out all dairy, or sugar, or carbs, or anything with a face, they will magically lose 5 pounds a day! But I…

When I was limiting my salt intake, I found that cooking with lots of fresh herbs takes the sting out of losing the salt. There will be an adjustment period for sure, as your taste buds get used to actually tasting the food flavors, not just the salt. But after a week or so, you start to really taste and enjoy the flavor…
