I did want to add that I think it's absolutely vital to have fitness goals and not just weight goals. By having fitness goals you can reach them even if the scale isn't moving as fast as you like. Have things that motivate you and that you can take pride in that have nothing to do with that extra tire you're unhappy with.

I definitely see all the work I have left to do even though I'm almost 50% through the journey, but I don't let it discourage me. For every negative comment I have for myself, I have to offer 3 positive in return. I have to remind myself that these changes are for life and they're going to take time to get there, but they…

You should always been improving your workouts. Your body gets used to a certain set of movements and fitness level and starts to get lazy. Don't be afraid to challenge your body.

I love both. I especially love the excercises that are both muscle training and cardio like a lot of the HIIT excercises.

I despise TOM. I never had the weight gain or out of control appetite, just the extreme cramps, debilititating migraines, and fatigue associated with severe anemia and other similar problems. I have kicked TOM out of my house and it is not welcome back. Eventually it'll be gone for good, but for now I have to settle for…

I try to flip it around when I start feeling like that. For example "I look horrible in these pictures, but I'll look better next time." I turn my funk into more fuel for my motivation.

Re-adjust your goals. You're trying to lose too fast. The closer you get to your goal the closer you have to eat to maintenance. There's a thread on here about it.

You can tone the muscle underneath but you cannot tone skin. Drink lots of water, use lotion everyday and after a while it might start to pull back. However, if you have lots of loose skin it's a health hazard in and of itself. You might start getting skin infections so if you have a lot, be sure to go to a doctor. Surgery…

I'm starting to see muscle tone for the first time in years and I'm not getting sick and crashing anymore which is huge motivation. Nothing like setting goals and being able to make them and exceed them without your own body sabotaging the process. Course my problem is different than most but I'll take it. :)

I would not recommend the stop eating approach. It's dangerous and counterproductive. Most dieters don't actually eat enough. Follow the program, add in a solid strength and cardio training program. Not just cardio. Weight lifting whether it's bodyweight excercises or actual iron, is important to your body. You won't…

My plans for maintenance is to continue maintenance, watching my calories, preplanning what I eat, weigh in every week for at least a year. If I feel comfortable relaxing the reigns then I will stop counting calories but I will continue the weigh in every week. If the weight starts coming back, I'll know I haven't gotten…

Guess you'll find out soon enough when you get there. :)

That's great! That's how to do it!

The chart is simply the average. Get a body fat test. This will tell you better than anything. The BMI is great for the average person, it has a nice healthy range, but for athletes and body builders that's where it starts to break down.

Not a doctor. You could have a stomach bug, over worked it, pregnant or any other number of things. Take your temperature, drink lots of fluids, if you get worse see a doctor.

Don't lump stevia in that artificial crap. Stevia is a naturally sweet herb that has been proven to actually have positive health benefits.
-
If you only have a few pounds to lose, eat your maintenance calories and let strength training and cardio do the work of burning the fat. It sounds like you might be hypoglycemic. Worth getting checked out, as well as your base metabolism tested. You might truly not be eating enough.
-
Just how you lose everything else. Sensible diet, strength training, cardio, and time.

That's so funny, I'm completely the opposite. If I have it right there and it's accessable, I'm 10 times more likely to use it, but if I have to set aside time and go there, it's not going to happen. Of course I'm a SAHM with 3 kids so that could have something to do with it. Still, I enjoy excercising so it doesn't take…

I really want a total gym, an elitpical, bike, and treadmill. If I could only pick two pieces of equipment and couldn't have a total gym, I'd have a set of free weights and a treadmill. I would so use them because half the year it's freakin cold here and you don't want to be outside.

Made chocolate today for my dairy free family and they're going crazy over it. Reminded me so much of my days at camp.

If you're relying on will power you will fail. Instead of making this a struggle slowly modify the way you live. Like when I first started when I took my kids to the park I would sit there and read a book or just watch. So instead of that I started walking around the park. So while they played for an hour I just slowly…

40 lbs so far here! I am finally starting to be able to jog some. Today my NSV was that during my mile and a half walk I was able to jog about half of it which is a huge accomplishment. Don't underestimate the benefits of walking, though, they are many.

Welcome! If you only make changes you can live with forever, you can absolutely do it. Change the foods you eat bit by bit. Change the portions too. Slowly add in good strength training and cardio routine and bit by bit without even feeling like what you're doing is hard or that you're on a diet, you'll get there. Push out…

Because if anything happens to the "other" your motivation, your reason is gone. You should be enough to live for. To love you must first to love yourself. I believe the same goes for weight loss. To be truly successful and hang onto it for the long run you need to stop with using outside motivation that has a good chance…

You stated above that you've been in and out 8 times. I figured there was a high chance of a 9th, hence my "dump her, don't take her back". It isn't a true dropping of a relationship but cutting it off before the disfunction can start again. The effect and end result is the same. I like what someone above said, that you…

Female here too, run as fast as you can away from her for good. Don't take her back. Say it's over and shut the door. You should be loved for you, not how much muscle you can flex. Unhealthy eating is unhealthy eating whether it's too much or too little. The emotional havoc she's causing is so not worth it.

The single greatest leading cause for childhood obesity is actually sugary drinks. Soda, fruit juice, punch, energy drinks, ect. If you are worried about this problem, perhaps pass an informational flyer to the parents, or make it a class challenge. That as a group they'll forego sugary drinks for the next X amount of…

Chances are you're feeling bloated from all the water you are retaining from starting a new difficult routine. Drink lots of water, take it slow, work into your new lifestyle and you'll start feeling the benefits.

None of my family can have dairy so thanks so much for this!
