I had the same problem. It could be that you have "shocked" your body, especially if you made a drastic change in eating habits. It took my body about a month to adjust and for the past 2 weeks I have been losing weight. I also increased my calorie intake to 1450 instead of the minimum 1200. I think 1200 was too much of a…

Sounds good. I may have to repeat Week 1 since my cardio is not up to par. Here is my plan for the next few days, I already did one day: May 10: W1D1 May 13: W1D2 May 15: W1D3

The only veggie I can think of you should never eat raw is a morrel mushroom. They are toxic to humans in their raw state.

I know how you feel. I gave up my coffee creamer because even the sugar free or fat free had too many calories. Don't worry, just realize the choices you make and adjust them. How about getting it fat free if they offer it?

When I took a walking class in college, we had to rock back on our heels and tap our toes to warm up to prevent shin splints. Someone on MFP suggests pointing your toes out and writing the alphabet with your toes to help also.

Thanks for the info. I will pay attention to how I run tonight. For someone who is overweight and did a first run, I was surprised I was not sore at all the next day. My big thing is the cardio, it kills me!! I still am leaning towards the Reeboks, but I will ease into running naturally.

I was looking at Reebok Realflex shoes. And, if I do run the "natural" way as my normal running and don't reall do a heel strike I wonder if I would be O.K. purchasing the Reeboks. Since I am just starting out running, I will report back tomorrow on how I run after I go tonight.

I was looking at Reebok Realflex shoes, they give a lot of protection. From what I understand, natural/barefoot running takes a long time to perfect and even experienced runners can take up to a year to get used to it. But I think I run like that already, and I will pay attention tonight how I run.

Way to go!!!

Welcome and you have lots of people to motivate you on here!!

Arrgh!!! My worst fear, having to go when there is nothing around. I ran in a neighborhood. I pray this does not happen to me!!

Feel free to add me a s a friend! I just started the C25K yesterday and am excited to do it again tomorrow.

Wow!!! You look great!! We have almost the same start weight and end goal, but I am 5"1".

Spice cake mix is a great idea!!! I made the Hungry Girl ones using a box of double chocolate cake mix and pumpkin (NOT pie filling, just plain pumpkin). Had to add a little water, about 2 TB so it would mix correctly and not be so thick.

Wow! Now I am really motivated!!

You are so inspiring! Sending you a friend request...

I just did about 3/4 of Week 1, Day 1 and the breathing is what got to me first. I was afraid I would not make it back home so I only did 3/4 of the program. Being a smoker, I was surprised at how well I actually did. I didn't feel like I was going to die, it was more exhaustion and breathing. Maybe I breathe wrong, I know…

Great post! Please keep us updated if you see him again and if you talk/walk with him. Tell him about MFP!!!

I did the first day yesterday, but only about 3/4 of the program for fear of being too tired or sore to make it back home. I was not as winded as I thought, and I smoke too

You can do it!! Make a conscious effort to change. I was the biggest junk food junkie and I decided "It's time to change!" and I did. Explore new foods that are good for you, look at other people's food diaries to get ideas for food, and you will have a lot of motivation and help from everyone on here. Don't get…

Thanks for posting this. I used to drink diet soda all day long, and my two front teeth have had to be replaced because of the acid wear. I switched to drinking water about a month ago, and don't miss soda at all. I do allow myself a regular soda on the weekends, mainly from habit because I always had a soda with me in the…

I know you don't want to go to the doctor, but my advice is go. My fiance is in therapy for his shoulder, and the therapist said once a muscle is damaged, your body will do everything possible to protect it and will prevent its use. His shoulder is extremely weak because his body prevented any use of the muscle, so now he…

Bumping for later. I am curious about barefoot running and have not even started running at all.

Beef has a lot of iron, along with dark leafy greens. What signs of iron deficiency did you have? I am really tired at the end of the day and almost fall asleep on the couch by 7:00 every night.

For sure plan your meals, or at least have a meal idea list. Buy the produce that is on sale, you can blanch and ffreeze any extra. Check different store's ads for bargains. My grocery bill increased by a lot from buying more fruit, produce and meats/proteins. I found fresh pineapples for $1.00 at one store, and $2.99 at…

I think the intense craving goes away, but you may still want something that is junk food to fulfill a need. Me, I drove through McDonald's for a soda and could not stand the smell of the greasy food at all. But, when I am recovering from a migraine, I want the chicken nugget meal and give in to that. Personally, all of…

I have a mix to walk to (starting C25K soon) and I walked to my mom's house, 2.4 miles on Sunday. Just as I got to her road and was thankful for making it, a great energy filled song came on and it helped me keep my pace instead of slowing down. The song was The Way You Make Me Feel my Michael Jackson.

The Kat VonD liner I use is a liquid type, but the applicator is like a fine, tight paintbrush. The first time you use it, you may not like it, but one you get the hang of it, you may never go back to a regular eyeliner again! I will try and post pics this coming weekend of my eye makeup and you will be able to see the…
