I'm not a doctor, only a nurse...but I do know that you're body requires at least an additional 500 calories a day while you are still breastfeeding, for the nutrition and nutrients needed for not only you, but your baby. So definitely, a no-go on the 1200 calorie diet, not safe. Your body is still refueling for yourself…

Loved this posting...I'm just now "really" getting started on MFP, as I joined long time ago, but never utilized it. Now that I'm buckling down, working out, and watching what I eat, I have found out how this site has majorly helped in keeping me on my toes with meals and calorie counting, which I never really had done…
