25? Yep, you have it in for me. lol

I'll keep you posted! Hopefully that song won't be my epitaph.
-
Boyhowdy, if that works, I've been doing it wrong.
-
Other great variation is grab an exercise ball, grab a plate if you want, prop your feet against the wall and do the extension.
-
I might be wrong about this, but isn't that due to an electrolyte imbalance? Either sodium or potassium is out of whack.

I'm in the last week of a high volume program and in it I am supposed to SS one-arm dumbbell rows after bench presses. Now I am already pretty tired from the previous day squatting 10x10, and two weeks ago I pulled my back a bit on the left bottom side. Last week (as with this week) I just avoided the offending exercise…

I took five years off and I knew that I couldn't barbell immediately when I got back into the gym. (I'm 43.) I knew that after taking such a long time off and since I am an office drone, that barbell work was going to be potentially injure-some, so I avoided it for 6-8 weeks and worked on my mobility, with dynamic…

lol. Pretty sure that comes with fees and diseases though.

FYI: Yesterday's Pec/Lat workout: Bench 165# x 10 x 10 Incline Press/Chin-Ups SS 140# x 10 x 5 5 sets chins Flat Dumbbell Bench flys/Chin-Ups SS 45# x 10 x 5 5 sets chins Finished off with Cable Face Pullers 90# x 10 x 5. So it will be interesting to do rep test like this next week. I am probably going on a good basic…

Just place that foam roller between your legs and roll. I'm sure that will help them catch up. lol

+1 And buy used, considering weight equipment is meant for abuse. Check Craigslist.

I see we are about the same age. Yeah, no kidding, right? At one time I was so knowledgable in all this stuff, but no longer. Hate that. I've been finding that a lot of what I knew about exercise and physiology is out of date, was inaccurate, or just wrong - so I am learning all over again. Kinda neat, but kinda depressing.
-
I didn't even go as deeply as you did. This was 15 years ago and I took Exercise & Physiology, an anatomy class, and something else - don't even remember. I wanted to graduate with my BFA (which I did) and get a PT certificate - just never got back to that.

Carbon exchange along the ATP Krebs cycle made my head spin in college. I guess that's why I largely remained an art and design major.
-
The 18 total at 205 is impressive! I am so curious as to what I will accomplish next week.
-
Nope you have not missed it. I will be testing this out next week during my week off from the gym between programs. I am finishing with a high volume training this week so I thought in my off week it would be fun to test this because I am a gym dork like that.

JavaPro.

If I am unsure of a new exercise, I'll pantomime the movement with pretend weights adjusting my back or stance etc til I feel ready to perform it. I don't care who is watching. If they are entertained, they can always tip me on my way out. The weight room is as much yours as anyone else after all.

Most of my shoulder development is from the military press, followed by one giant dumbbell set of front, then lateral raises with standing bent-over rear delt flyes to finish them off x4.
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't women usually more functionally stronger in lower body lifts, i.e. squats as opposed to upper body? Isn't that opposite of what men are?
-
The narrow grip (flat) bench press brings me too much pain - even if I use it as lift for my triceps. I avoid it. I only use a narrower grip if I bench Incline.
-
The bench has always been one of my strongest exercises. I found out long ago to arch the back, spread the legs and plant the feet - usually on my toes, and square the elbows thus aligning the shoulders and hands into position, lowering to the center of my chest in a controlled manner.
-
Yaoch! I winced at reading that.
-
Yeah I read that. How do you safeguard against in the future? I can only imagine the rehab/pain you've gone through. Sucks.
-
I hear you there. I'll be happy when I can reach 315 for my 1RM once agin.
-
Nothing to be ashamed of. I checked my last 1RM test day - three months ago (and the first time in, at least 7 years), and I only did 3 but I stopped prematurely since I was trying to save as much potential for heavier lifts. I had several warm-ups before that so, who knows. Planning on testing on Wednesday next week.
-
Sweet. As Wheels said, very respectable.
-
Yep, we are not discussing 1RM.

Hey thanks for that... and that something I did not know that aspiring professional football athletes specifically train to impress with as many reps at the combine. I didn't play sports in high school so I really don't have that background. I skated and snowboarded and had goofy haircuts. Good point too. Those numbers are…

The only problem I have with selfies is you see the camera (or the phone usually) in the picture. Annoys the designer in me. Otherwise, snap away.
