Calf stretches, calf stretches and more calf stretches. I've always suffered from shin splints and this is the only thing i know of that will make it better.

1. Measure what you eat...people grossly over-estimate what a serving is. For instance, a serving of olive oil is 2 tablespoons. Are you actually measuring using a tablespoon, or are you estimating? 2. Water, water, and more water. Many times, when you feel hungry, you're actually thirsty. Water also helps to flush fat…

I need help, too! My whole life, I've never been a runner. I've been told I don't know how to breathe properly. But when I try, I end up hyperventilating! Suggestions are welcomed!

It's the difference between the body's ability to lose visceral fat versus subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat lies deep in the body, surrounding the organs. Men tend to get this kind of fat more easily in their abdominal areas. Visceral fat is much easier to lose than subcutaneous fat. Women tend to have more subcutaneous fat…

Sounds crazy, I know...but sometimes you have to eat more to lose more. Make sure you're getting 3 regular meals and plenty of healthy snacks in between. A good breakfast will kick-start your metabolism. I didn't believe it either until I tried. And yes...eat your exercise calories!

I agree! Make your own. It's soooo easy. Most grocery stores carry packets of "fajita seasoning". Lightly pan sautee some chicken, or shrimp along with onions and peppers. There are also some 5-carb tortillas that would work great. Low-fat sour cream to top it off! Just watch the cheese. ;)

I weigh myself at the same time in the morning, and the scale is on a flat, concrete surface. I had a hunch that it was wrong, since it showed that I had lost 4 pounds the day after I was officially weighed at the doctor. I tried six readings within 5 minutes, and got six different weights...the closest of which was 3…

I was a late night eater, too. Something that works for me is to have a large (16-20 oz.) cup of water about a half-hour before bed. Fills the tummy.

I'm drinking about 16 8-oz glasses a day. I have a 32 oz (4 cups) cup, that I keep full. If I get bored with the water, I'll use Crystal Light -- lots of flavor choices -- and sip all through the day. If I'm going out, I try to keep a bottle of water in the car so it's always around.
