I feel for you! Just had my own glucose test the other day, and I'm "pre-diabetic". My first meeting with the nutritionist is next week. I'm hoping to learn how to lower my blood sugar through a healthier diet. I think starting here at MFP was a great start!!

Two suggestions...first, PLAN what you're going to have before you just blindly eat. See how many calories are in the things you want, and if it's too many, find a substitute. Second, and most important...don't just take it one day at a time...take it one MEAL at a time! Best of luck to you!!

I've got to agree with Sarah....water -- and lots of it! It will help keep your tummy feeling full. And there IS an adjustment period while your stomach shrinks. When you feel like you're "starving", stick it out about 20-30 minutes. This is the worst time -- the time when we cave in and head for the fridge. The hunger…

Two back surgeries (discectomies), so I KNOW about the back pain, and what excess weight can do! Watch the calories (this site is great for keeping track!), lots of "little" meals, and don't forget to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water daily. One meal at a time...one day at a time.:smile:

Don't get discouraged over 4 lbs. That's actually a good health weight-loss pace -- 1-2 lbs per week. Hang in there, and remember, we're all in this together! Post here any time you need a little encouragement, or even a "kick" in the butt!
