H Mike - have you read the Mark Sisson stuff about Primal eating? I've been eating this way for about eight weeks - no sugar, wheat, grains, rice, pasta, vegetable oils - and I feel great!! You're welcome to add me as a friend and have a look at my food diary to see what I eat :0) Oh, and I am Heather from Hamilton - 41yo,…

I'm in agreement that most of these foods should absolutely be avoided - because most of these foods are highly processed. Earlier this year I changed my usual diet completely to 'primal' eating (www.marksdailyapple.com) and have lost around half a kg per week since. I have cut out all wheat, grains, sugar, rice, pasta…

I recently made a big pot of chilli (without beans) and added lots of grated courgette and finely diced carrots - YUM!!
-
This article is interesting too - I've recently cut out all wheat (amongst other things)... feel so much better! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/wheat-gluten_b_1274872.html Glad I'm gluten free now!!

I avoid most dairy, but do often cook in a teaspoon of butter, particularly fried eggs and tomatoes - YUM. I also have a little milk in my coffee - just can't do coffee without milk!!

Hiya - I also had some sleep disruption in the first two or three weeks, but this did settle down. I found that a glass or red wine before bed is helpful now and then too :) I don't know how long you've been eating primal/paleo - but in my experience it is SOOO worth it. I changed my eating about two months ago, and after…

Hi there - Heather here from Hamilton. I was on here last year for a while, lost some weight, put it back on. SIGH! Early in January I completely changed my eating and went 'primal' - cut out all flour, wheat, grains, sugar. I'm pretty much living on meat, veges, a little fruit, nuts and seeds, and I feel great!! I'm not…

Hiya - I'm on about week six... day three was probably the worst for me... tired and headachey - and wicked carb cravings... but it passed :) Certainly all 'withdrawals' gone in less than a week for me. Don't give in!! It is SOOO worth it - I feel great!! Getting lots of comments and questions now as people notice my…

Well we do't get superbowl in New Zealand - but this is awesome for me cause I have a BBQ to go to on Saturday night (middle of summer here) - and need snacks as there will be tonnes of the usual stuff that I now choose not to eat. Love the idea of chicken wings, or nibbles. Also thought I might make guacamole with…

Oh and you know what is worse? When it comes from your family!! How can cutting out grains be healthy? You can't possibly get enough fibre? Pfft how can eating bacon and leaving the fat on the meat be anything other than bad for you... I have to say that my teenage kids have been so awesome, they still eat wholegrain…

Oh my goodness - I never thought of that - I had allergy tests many years ago - I don't remember if they tested for wheat but grasses had a strong reaction, particularly Rye grass... I have noticed that since I switched to primal I have had much clearer sinuses and have not needed the anti histamines that I usually take…

Hi everyone - Heather here from Hamilton. In my forth week of switching to paleo / primal eating - and feeling really good...

My head struggles with this a bit - I love eating this way and I feel great and I really don't miss much. What my head struggles with is such a pronounced reaction when I have eaten tonnes of wheat / grains / sugar all my life! (Up to 3.5 weeks ago). Makes me wonder what I've been doing to myself, and what I'll feel like…

48 pounds - awesome!! I'm all the way down in New Zealand so no popping in for dinner - but I'm keen to have some 'primal' friends on here anyway :)
-
Hi there - I became a convert to primal on January 5 - and am loving it!! I'd love to have some 'primal buddies' too - I've added you both, and anyone else feel free to add me : ) Heather from New Zealand

Hi, I am Heather from New Zealand, 41, and simply came across Primal / Paleo early January. Started on January 5 - cut out all sugar, wheat, grains etc. I have minimal fruit - it's summer here so access to lots of berries - YUM! I've found it suprisingly easy to cut out everything, but still have a glass or two of red wine…

Oh my goodness me!! I can have pork rinds??? Awesome! I'm at day seven and really enjoying this way of eating. Later tonight we have a celebration for my son who just passed his school exams with great results.. I made guacamole, bought corn chips for my kids, and after reading this thread got some pork rinds for me. I…

I'm just over 5ft and just over 70kgs (154lbs), my current goal is to be under 60kgs (132lbs) for the first time since I was a teen! want to ideally be somewhere between 50-55kgs (110-120lbs) - rather keep some curves than be to thin though :) Been doing Paleo for a week and feeling great!!!
-
I'm in Hamilton :)
-
Hi there - I am from Hamilton - want to get below 60kgs - about 12kgs to go :) I'm giving hynotherapy a go to give me some motivation... check out my blog if you are interested in how "Hypno Band" works for me... Happy for people to add me, and I've just requested to join the facebook group mentioned above :) Heather
-
It's not mean - I understand what you are saying - the hypnotherapy doesn't create weight loss, but helping me to change some deep set thinking just might... I completely agree that it can only ever be less calories consumed and more burned that creates weight loss, but it seems that so far the hypnotherapy is helping me…
