Sorry I missed this post. Diet is the biggest thing. I exercise because I want to, not because I want to lose weight. I didn't start lifting until 3 months ago...

Thanks for the compliments and support everyone!
-
Keep up the hard work and you will definitely get there! As I'm sure you know, it's not easy, but it's DEFINITELY worth it!
-
honestly don't remember why I took the other foot off, I promise I'm not frauding LOL
-
haha, because if I take weight off of it, the numbers disappear too quick for me to take a picture!
-
Hey, I don't mind at all! Girls still liked me when I was chubby, I just didn't like myself when I was chubby so I decided to do something about it!
-
It's a feeling so good it really can't be put into words. I'm sure everybody else on here who has made it to their goal would agree. The weight loss is really only the "surface" part of the equation for me. I hit a major rough patch in my life two years ago and I've overcome every obstacle that was holding me back.…

Get a fitbit and not have to worry about it maybe? Plus, the fitbit will motivate you to get more active.
-
I usually get between 5 and 6 hours a night and I've had zero issues losing weight. I work and go to school full time so there's not enough time in the day to get 8 hours of sleep! Jealous of those of you that have the time for that...
-
So you log other cardio on top of what fitbit gives you for calories? Wouldn't that be "double dipping" though?
-
I always do my cardio after lifting. I've read that it's better for your body to do it that way, but the real reason I do it is I sweat a lot while running and don't want to get all the equipment drenched in sweat.

I've lost just under 85 pounds since March first of this year and I've drank nearly every weeekend. Not just a couple beers a night, either. I work really hard during the week and rigorously stick to my diet/exercise plan, then on the weekends I have fun.

I'm sort of like your boyfriend...somewhat insecure and I like to keep things to myself. While it's nice to get compliments I prefer it when someone just tells me that I'm looking good, and not things like "hey skinny man" or "zack, where'd the other half of you go." I know everybody means well, I just simply don't like…

Protein smoothie: -I serving whey protein -6 oz fruit (I like blueberries and strawberries) -1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt -6oz skim milk -7 ice cubes That makes a LOT of smoothie so you could cut some of that in half if you want. It's delicious, nutritious, and filling!

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you

Only things I have given up completely are soda and fast food. I have cut back on pizza, burgers, french fries, and your other typical junk foods significantly. I've gotten to the point where I really don't even like those foods that much because I feel like crap after eating them now that my body is used to eating quality…

Everybody's body is different. For me, I like a lower calorie diet as it helpe me see results faster and is easier for me to control cravings, etc. I tried upping my calorie goal a couple months back and I stalled out for a few weeks. Dropped my calories back down and I've been losing consistently since. Most people on…

Making it a meal is another great idea! I have my shake in the form of a smoothie every day. 1 scoop (well 2 but that's the serving size) protein, a half cup of vanilla greek yogurt, 6oz skim milk, and a serving of frozen berries. It's delicious, nutritious and filling

The main reason to up your protein intake is to give your muscles the fuel (protein) they need to recover from a strenuous workout. The protein shakes in and of themselves will not help you lose weight. It is possible, however, that they will help you work harder for longer in the gym, which paired with the right diet will…

I was out at the bar with a friend this past weekend when we ran into a high school classmate of ours that we hadn't seen since graduation. Our classmate greeted my friend then looks at me and goes "Hey, I'm Tommy." He was more than a little surprised when I told him who I was LOL. I only graduated 3 years ago and my class…

If you are on a weight training program they are a great way to meet your protein macros for the day. If you aren't exercising heavily there are cheaper/less caloric ways of satisfying your hunger

When I started weight lifting for the first time on my "diet" I hung onto water weight for about 2 weeks and wasn't losing nearly as fast as I was before. Then I took a break from lifting for about 2 months and when I went back to it, same thing happened. Weight seemed to be hanging on and scale stopped moving. Took about…

I'm not on a true "plateau" per se, but my weight loss has really slowed down lately and it's been bothering me. I know for sure that I'm logging right so it's definitely not that. I've chalked it up to me starting to work out again. I've been lifting for about 5 weeks now so I think I've been hanging on to some excess…

If you just started lifting this week, chances are that your body is retaining water. This happens when you begin a new exercise program. Should fall off in 2-6 weeks. Don't let it get you discouraged, because you'll be losing inches which the scale doesn't show!
-
I tried the scooby calculator out and it said I could eat 2600+ calories a day and lose a pound a week. I tried that out and it's been about 6 weeks now and I've lost like 2 pounds.....not thrilled considering how easy it was coming off before. Going back to ~2,100 a day (starting today, lol) so I'll report back with…

Eggs, vanilla greek yogurt, brown rice, chicken, peeled/deveined shrimp, whey protein, fruit, almonds, etc. When I'm craving something salty I'll have a serving of wheat thins or Boom CHicka Pop popcorn (this stuff is really good! 110 calories for 3 cups.) I was never a huge sweet tooth, but when I get a craving for ice…

Bought a pair or 32 shorts this weekend...big milestone for me considering I started with a TIGHT 40" waist. Also, down to size medim shirts from XXL. Feels great!

While I know that I'm not "building muscle" because I'm still in a calorie deficit, I did have my first real "leg day" in forever on Monday. My hamstrings and quads are still sore, lol. Maybe that has something to do with it.
-
I set my activity as moderately active, because I walk anywhere from 2-4 miles a day at work, and am at the gym a minimum of 4 days a week for at least an hour. I don't count or eat back any exercise calories. MFP gives me ~2,600 calories a day and I usually only eat 2,300 give or take.

See OP, I use a food scale and make sure I eat the proper amounts. Serving sizes are also given in grams on the boxes of those items.
