Late night munchies is terrible and tough to break ( I have fruit with the wife in front of TV as a snack and walking. Walking is key afterwards and I use it (still) to either delay food or to think of the hatred of walking in the cold to distract myself from habit eating. It does get easier though as you use protein more…

Joined about a year ago but stayed as a lurker for almost all of that year. I was advised to have weight loss surgery if I wished to see my 50s (I was 45/6 at the time and super morbidly obese). I guess I stayed hidden as I wasn't sure I wanted to 'come out' as a bariatric patient, seen a few posts on the main boards and…

Hiya all. GC name is the same. Used MFP and GC for a while now but 2016 marks a 'come on work a bit harder' phase. Doctor yells at me and too be honest, I yell at myself too for excuses

jjinwellies - I guess community friends are for inspiration and help if you need. We are all in the same boat in that we wish to loose weight and that shared interest can help each other. Yesterday I had close to zero sleep, a long and horrid day at work but I guess the fact that my diary is visible pushed me to do my…

I had a bypass in Dec 2014, also on doctors advice/orders and haven't regretted it. There are more implications with a bypass, ie foods you cant eat, alcohol reacts differently, need to take multivitamins but the overall gain is fantastic. Each of us if different, but I went into hospital taking 12 tablets and only needed…

Good luck to you all on your pre-op diets etc. I am 13month post bypass op and having walked the mile in your shoes can relate to how you are all feeling. If you have any questions etc feel free to message, ask or add me. I am still under the care of the hospital team and have an appointment in 3 weeks, hopefully to…

Welcome. The liquid diet will be to shrink your fatty liver and will be for 6-8 weeks. Excellent you are seeing the nutritionist before hand as they can help you develop different ways of dealing with your emotional eating. Like all the bariatric surgery, it's not a 'fix me quick' option, rather it's a tool to help you.…

Originally from North Hants/Surrey but married and moved to Birmingham Diary open to friends but as I am a bariatric patient, it can look odd as its 1200-1500 cals only. Walking 8-10 miles a day for exercise and support always welcome :)

I had a gastric bypass (Roux-en-y) 13 months ago so can give you some info if you like. I am based in UK if that makes a difference to care etc.

Welcome :) Similar story to yourself, 48 and health issues resulting in (very) strong words from doctor to lose weight. There was a post yesterday with UK members, I bookmarked as posts vanish quite quickly - http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/comment/35152490#Comment_35152490 Good luck with your weight lose…
