What he said. As a new gym user, you will make more progress doing full body routines 3x a week. Body part splits are really more suited to advanced lifters.

Ha! Unfortunately they are only 1 inch plates so don't fit the Olympic bar! I was just having a sort out

Finally got around to clearing my garage out to make room for my power cage and punch bag stand. Not overly impressive but functional with plenty of room.

Definitely agree with this. I suffer with blocked sinuses so I am a mouth breather - I simply cannot get enough air in or out through my nose. When your mouth starts to dry out, spit gets thicker and harder to swallow. I absolutely detest spitting but now I can see why some runners and athletes do it.

I think its all been said but I too am an early morning runner. I started around 5 months ago and chose 5:30am as it was quiet and no one would see me make a fool out of myself struggling to complete 2.5k! Since then it has become habit and I am now doing 10k runs and getting it finished before 6:30am. The whole day is…

If you are limited to 30 minutes then you may want to incorporate HIIT instead of steady state cardio. 30 minutes of HIIT (providing you keep the intensity up) will leave you exhausted and feeling like you've had a good workout!

Always looking for new friends on here so feel free to add me!

If you decide to work out fasted then a BCAA supplement may help keep you energised and reduce fatigue. The added benefit is that it can also help protect your muscles from being used as an energy source.

I like to finish biceps with 21's - at the end of a good session even light weights will burn like hell!

Tamworth here too!

Bananas! Don't mind the taste but absolutely hate the texture and mushiness!

Always looking to add more friends. 37 Year old male from Birmingham, UK. Lost 27lbs in around 3 months with a few more to go!

I can see you getting a lot of grief if you try to work in between someone else's sets! Most people work to strict rest times and need to go again once that time has passed. The best thing to do is politely ask how many sets the current user has left and either wait or do another exercise in the meantime.

Yep indeed - Birmingham (well a town just outside but near enough!)

An hour on elliptical or treadmill is a long time. I would look at doing around 50 minutes cardio per session but break it up. For example 20 mins elliptical - 20 mins treadmill and 10 mins on a rower. That should help with the boredom and give you a good full body workout. This method has worked for me so far.
