  • Birmingham here too (well just outside). You look HUGE in your profile pic and I don't mean fat. If you cut 18kg your going to look well ripped! I'm intrigued to see how you progress - good luck!
  • Right then - I'll give it a go!

  • What's this obsession with peanut butter and apple? It seems to be on everyone's guilty pleasure list! Am I missing something special?!

  • A calorie is a calorie whether it's from salad or a burger. It's purely a measurement of energy or heat. The nutrients may be very different but that's a not the discussion. We are talking about energy from food.
  • You've done so well - 15 pounds is a cracking amount to lose and it looks like you've done it sensibly over a reasonable amount of time. You've probably just hit a wall and you need to change things up again to shock your metabolism into action. Add me pal - not only am I in the same boat - I'm in the room next door!
  • Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realise I could add a past entry to change my starting weight. I joined MFP a month after starting my fitness regime and have lost 13 pounds up to this point. The ticker was annoying me just showing a measly 2lbs! Hiker - that's an awesome transformation in your profile picture. Well…
  • Your target calories already has a healthy deficit calculated into it. You should try to get close to your target calories as this ensures your getting the nutrients your body needs to work efficiently.
  • It can be quite lonely this health and fitness lark. Add me if you would like some company!
  • Hi David - I'm 37 and trying to work my way down to a decent base weight (around 13st) before starting a clean bulk to build muscle and strength. I've got 33lbs to go. I joined a gym 1 month ago and the cost of that alone is motivation enough for me to stick with it! At present I go 5 days a week doing a mixture of cardio…
  • Feel free to add me! 30 something male from Birmingham UK. 33lbs to lose.
  • I wish you all the best with your journey - I'll be here to try and offer support when you need it! Friendship accepted! (I'll also get a profile picture sorted asap!)
  • It really is a mental battle isn't it! Now I've done a bit more research I understand the logic and hopefully if I follow editorgrrls advice I will be able to maintain the weight loss rather than putting it all back on later!
  • Thanks for the advice and it makes perfect sense! I just need to remember its a long term thing and that I shouldn't get too down hearted if the scales don't show big changes week on week.
