Adding exercise allows you to eat more calories?

I don't understand why if you enter you burned 500 calories, it adjusts your total calorie intake goal accordingly. How is it possible to create a calorie deficit when the app adds all the calories you've just burned, to calories that you need to eat?

Your target calories already has a healthy deficit calculated into it.
You should try to get close to your target calories as this ensures your getting the nutrients your body needs to work efficiently.

MFP has already created the deficit you asked for. Your daily calorie goal will be set 250 calories lower for each 0.5 lbs you want to lose per week.
  • Good deal, thanks!
