Go by your HRM it is the correct one. The others are based on an average weight, average everything and we are not all in the same package. The walk you did was correct you do burn an average of around 100 calories a mile so 450 is right on the money. The machines are never right I have a treadmill and it is usually 100 or…

I would say get the heart rate monitor if you can. The machines WAY overestimate your calorie burn. My treadmill is off by at least 100+ calories when it says 205 I am close to burning 99 maybe 101 so that is how off they are. Calories does make a difference and the quality of your calories. However if you are eating back…

Yes I do this on a regular basis as my body does not feel like I am starving it and every time the weight loss shows up. I try to do it once a week not going totally overboard but a good solid amount of calories and at times I have also found that if I just eat my calories and forgo the exercise the same will happen.

Outdoors is different as I do both. The air conditioning is you running against the air outside very different but nice. Get a Garmin forerunner with a chest strap you can see your pace and your heart rate they will definitely be different outside as you do not get the bit of extra push as the treadmill it is all you. Find…

I have a polar F6 it won't detect anyone else's heart rate if you are in a class some of the others do like the F4 so make sure of that. I love it -has the chest strap but you do need that and it is accurate. Mine happens to be for men but I don't care I can read it easily however it is black and not one of the colors they…

I have a Garmin Forerunner without the footpad and love it --however now and then it has been off so I go by the chip time. I love it though and I rarely if ever leave home without it when I am out for a run or walk. Congrats on your PR. I have been told that races are marked out and will not always go by what your GPS…

I don't have "cheat" days as this is a lifestyle not a diet per say. I do watch calories as my body does not need that much to function and I do not need to overload the liver with the stuff that is out there. I do however have a day now and then where I just eat whatever I want and not worry too much about the calories…

The workouts are not the problem I do run and I walk, I lift weights etc. I do a lot of exercise so it has to be the diet. I am vegan I make 99.9% of everything I eat. I keep calories to between 1200-1500 depends on how long of a run I went on. I right now think it is due to lack of water since my job there is really no…

Well I would slow it down to where you are comfortable then go up in the speed an increment at a time. No incline or anything and hold your head forward and look out like you are walking normal. Speed can mess with you if you are new to them. You can also use it doing a push cart where you hold onto the sides and use your…

I actually just did this yesterday with a recipe. You make it then you decide whether you want half cup or cup portions now get that measuring cup out and scoop it out into another container now you will know how many half cups or full cups etc there are. Put the recipe in here on the website along with your portion size…

I have to say this is an odd combination but it has always worked for me. 1/2 oz walnuts and 5 pitted prunes. It get the sweet from the prunes and the fats and proteins from the walnuts I weigh them out you can probably go with an ounce of nuts. I have no idea why this works but the hunger is just gone it would be easy to…
