Try a cup of chicken bouillon with a dash of heavy cream. Tastes like cream of chicken soup and has lots of sodium. Works for me. Good luck!

1. I avoid the big board like the plague. I wandered over there ONE time a couple weeks ago and wound up butthurt. I'll stay here from now on, TYVM. 2. I, too, hate this new design. Thank you kkimpel. That's basically what I'm doing. I'm not measuring, not stressing, but I am sticking to lower carb foods just because I feel better that way. Yesterday I discovered I'm in ketosis without even trying. Oh the irony..... :o Surgery is set for early November so just going to coast and be sensible until then.

What a load of crap. On the other hand, at least you didn't get stuff like "low carb is the evil and will kill you" because that's the kind of stuff I have to wade through everywhere I go, it seems.

I had for lunch: a salad with a little bit (2 carbs worth) of full fat ranch, green leaf lettuce, tomato, with some nice chunks of steak fried in olive oil on top. Paired it with a big mug of chicken broth that had a shot of HWC in it. Maybe it's psychological but I feel so much better now!

Ah, thank you. I'm reading that book but I'm only on chapter 2, as I just got it yesterday. I love bouillon......especially chicken with a little HWC to make it taste like cream o'chicken. Don't have to tell me twice!

I purchased some strips for the first time on Amazon today, and I noticed on some of the cheaper brands, reviewers continually stated they were inaccurate. Have you tried a couple different brands?

Do you find certain foods become unappealing faster than others? For example, I can eat beef every day and not get sick of it. Chicken....not so much. It makes me want to barf if I try to eat it 2 days in a row.

I will confess I have a love / hate relationship with FB. I think social media is turning us into mental midgets....but I work at home, which means I'm here alone most days of the week, so I am also on there quite a bit because I need the socialization. You know.....I think I know the answer to this one on my own. I think it's "It will be ok to eat the jello as long as, this time, you use some moderation with it. You know, as opposed to standing there with the fridge open, eating it directly out of the serving bowl with an extra large spoon until it's all gone." :wink:

Thank you :) I know that thyroid cancer is, in most cases, highly treatable so I'm not freaking out as much as I would be otherwise.....but it's definitely in the back of my mind at all times. I appreciate the support.

I think I am going to have to look into my macros and / or try lower or higher numbers. I'm stalled after only a few weeks and getting frustrated. But this is how I truly prefer to eat, and I do NOT want to go back to calorie counting, so I will have to find a way to make it work.
