  • I'm using Polar RS300X, but when my friend asked me for advice I told her to get the cheapest Polar available. RS300X is: 1) too big; 2) has many functions/info that I don't really need/use. All I'm using it for is to see my pulse and amount of calories. I'm not gonna get any lab accuracy here, so I wish I spent less money.

  • I do use HRM, but more to entertain myself then for anything else. It's my cool adult toy. I don't eat back all those calories, maybe only 100-200cal per an hour of workout. IMHO, you work out, that's all that matters. Either it's 300 or 800 an hour (as long as you are not planning on eating them back) - doesn't matter....…

  • It happens rarely but sometimes I use up to 4 machines in 1 set, and I have 4 sets. And yes, i'll use 3 towels. And I respect when somebody does the same (if they are really in between the sets). Others can either wait like 10-15 min or substitute. Who gets up first gets the slippers.

  • I burn 400+calories during 1 hr weight training, usually my Polar reads around 500 (I do -100 calories/hr to adjust for burned calories at rest) I log them, but I don't eat back everything.
