I am 3 weeks out and I mostly feel fine. But I get sore at the end of the day and the following day on the days I over do it, especially things like picking things up that are heavy.

I had the sleeve done on a Tuesday. I was suppose to have a work call from home on Friday but had to cancel. I went back to work part-time on Monday (teaching a 2 hour class where I was on my feet.) I was still a little sore while driving and I was tired in the afternoon, but it was very manageable. If you can, I would…

My guess is your surgery will be in the morning. My other guess is that your surgeon only operates on certain days. I had a hard time scheduling mine because of my summer teaching schedule combined with my ex-partners work travel schedule (she was my person for the day and took care of the kids.) He only does surgery on…

It's nice to have answers! I'm glad the problem won't interfere with your surgery and they'll be able to help the hernia too!

My doctor told me not to consume more than 40 grams of protein at once - that the body won't absorb more than that. But, if you can get 40 grams that way, then you only need another 30 or so from food.

I am almost 3 weeks post sleeve. I brought the following to the hospital for a one night stay: 2 changes of underwear, 2 comfy outfits, deodorant, hair brush, hair bands, iphone with headphones (needed this because of the stupid alarms going off all the time), iphone charger, flip flops, comfy socks, my glasses, lip balm.…

Good for you! This is on my list of things I want to accomplish. I am almost 3 weeks post-sleeve and am only walking about 1.5/1.75 miles. Good luck with your race!

I am only 2.5/3 weeks out. I started being able to lay on my side a week ago, with a pillow pulled up against me. I am pretty comfortable like this on my right side, but it's still uncomfortable if I try it on my left side (so I don't.) I still have to be careful getting up from bed, because the muscle is still tender. I…

I went to the store today and picked up some stuff. I am going to make some turkey chili this weekend and I am definitely going to make that noodleless lasagna. I ended up buying reduced fat hash and ate 1/4 cup of it for lunch. It looks and smells like dog food but it was pretty tasty. I just forked mashed it and added…

Congrats on getting the clear for surgery! I started at 315 so RNY was suggested to me also. But my doctor said that the sleeve will work just as well, as long as I am willing to work the tool. It was hard for me to decide on weight loss surgery and I just couldn't do anything other than the sleeve, because I didn't want…

I hate most beans so that's not really an option, except for hummus and soybeans. Using plain greek yogurt instead of mayo or 1/2 and 1/2 is a good idea to get things wet. I don't think I can do eggs yet. I think that is on the "soft foods" list. Though I was surprised that deli meat is okay. Although, I guess if you chew…

I would avoid addressing weight as the issue. It sounds like her weight gain is a symptom of something else. I put on a lot of weight after my divorce. I knew that but there was too much other stuff for me to deal with emotionally. She knows that she has gained weight and that it isn't healthy, you don't need to point that…

I had a hard time the first few days, mostly due to nausea. I could NOT drink the isopure, or have popsicles or anything sweet. I drank a lot of pho broth (vietnamese broth), protein chicken soup, and warm tea. It was only for a few days and then I was able to drink more and get more protein in. I am now 2 weeks post-op…

I'll do it! I'm still on full liquids so hopefully I'll have a good loss over the next six weeks.

It gets a lot better about day 3. By the end of my liquid diet, I had to remind myself to drink the protein drinks, because I wasn't hungry. I had headaches and felt week and really hungry the first couple of days but then things really turned around at day 3 or 4. You'll make it!!

I have what feels like hunger but I've been assured it isn't. I would wake up in the middle of the night with almost painful hunger pains. I switched to taking my prilosec at night and that helped with that, as does laying propped up a little bit. I think it is the extra acid in the stomach that causes what I think of as…

I'm only 2 weeks out and I have the same thing happen, but only in my left calf. I attribute it to still being fatigued after surgery. Also, I think it takes a while for the anesthesia to really leave our bodies.

Glad you are feeling pretty good. Walking helps with the shoulder pain. You seem to be in good spirits with a positive outlook.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and went back to teaching on Monday. I drove myself. It was uncomfortable to drive until about Wednesday but manageable. I was on my feet for the 2 hour class but that was all I had to do that day. But, I came home to 2 kids who needed to be driven to swim team. I was back to regular routine with…

Honestly, I was thinking, "I better wake up later!." Then even asked me, "what are you expecting to have happen today?" and my answer was, "that I wake up!" Of course, I did wake up and at almost 2 weeks out, I'm feeling pretty good!

It depends on your doctor's guidelines, of course. I was on clear liquids so I bought some Syntrax nectars sample packs, Isopure Zero, and Unjury chicken soup for protein. I bought sugar free jello and popsicles, even though I hate artificial stuff. I also bought and froze some Pho broth from a local restaurant. I made…

I moved to full liquids about a week and a half after surgery, but I was allowed to have milk based protein drinks at day 3 to help with nausea. When I went to full liquids, I was able to add yogurt, soups and puddings. I like the Chobani 100 because it doesn't have any artificial sweeteners or flavors. But, it does have…

I had my surgery scheduled before I finished the supervised diet, only because I was on a tight schedule because of my summer teaching schedule so they penciled me in, assuming I got approval. I did all of the other requirements during that time as well - blood work, etc. My last appt was 6/27 and I had surgery on 7/29, so…

So glad you are doing well! I also had seven incisions and they are itchy. My tape is starting to fall off and that helps. I also started putting Vitamin E oil on them, even over the steri-strips, and that helps with the itchies. I am currently on full liquids, which means I get to eat soup and yogurt. Every day is better…

I had my kids hide my scale after surgery. I know that a lot of people gain weight after surgery because of the fluids and I knew that would upset up, so I had them hide it for the first week. Of course, they are kids so they didn't hide it very well, but they put it in a place that was physically difficult for me to get.…

I understand where you are coming from. I do NOT like to eat processed or artificial foods. Like another poster said, I prefer real foods over processed foods. I understand, though, why my doctor wants me on low fat right now (I am 1.5 weeks post-op). That doesn't mean I have to eat processed crap. It takes more effort to…

I also recommend getting samples. I got sample packs of Syntrax Nectars and Sweets, Unjury (chocolate, vanilla, plain, and chicken soup), and About Time. I also bought some Isopure Zero and the Premier Protein from Costco. I am almost 2 weeks out of surgery and I could NOT drink the Isopure and I really taste the…

I have Cigna too. I had to meet with my doctor 3 times and the nutritionist 3 times. It actually took less than 3 months because the visits were spaced at least 28 days apart. So, if you had a doc visit 7/17 that started your diet, then one on 8/17 and then 9/17 I think you will be fine. That's what mine looked like except…

Welcome! I started at pretty close to you. I started my 3 month supervised diet at 315 and then started my pre-op diet at 300. I went into surgery on 7/29 at 290/291. I've only weighed myself once (officially) since surgery and was down to 285. From my unofficial weighs this week, I am confident I will be under 280 by…

Thanks for the advice. I am still on full liquids but trying to follow the 30-30-30 rule and have mealtimes. I still don't feel restriction but it sounds like that will come with the pureee stage.
