  • Hello! I am also four years out. I lost about 85 lbs but have put on about 30 in the last year. I am currently on day 3 of a reset. Would love some friends to check in with as I re-start this!
  • You can link apps like RunKeeper or MapmyRun with MFP and also with AW, if you prefer to track with those instead of with your AW.
  • I have the same issue when switching from a Fitbit to AW. I've read a lot about it. The Fitbit and other trackers calculate calories burned from exercise/activity AND what you burn just being alive. The AW only gives calorie credit from exercise/activity. So, on my Fitbit, a 45-minute walk would give me 300 calories but…
  • I just posted this in response to another thread. The pros for me are that it replaces the purpose of the fitbit AND lets me check my email, messages, calendar, heart beat, etc. It does a lot more than my fit one. A con is that it is stingy with the calories burned through exercise and you really have to work to get your…
  • I have been using a Fitbit one for the past couple of years and I liked how it helped me stay motivated. I just switched to the Apple watch series 2 this past week. I am still adjusting. I am also still wearing my Fitbit, because I participate in challenges with my friends. But, other than the challenges, there's no need…
  • Here too! It's been about 3 years since I've been sleeved and originally lost almost 100 lbs but have gained about 20 back. I hurt my foot so can't get my steps in like I used to, but that shouldn't affect my eating. I let stress get to me. I'm off work for the summer and am using this time to focus on getting back on…
  • I'll be 6 months out at the end of the month. Feel free to friend.
  • I also had a stall at about 3 weeks, when I was on the full liquid phase. I knew it was going to happen so I just stuck with my plan, made sure I got in my protein and water, and logged everything. I figured that I would eventually have to lose, eating less than 800 calories a day. And I did. After the stall broke, quite a…
  • It sounds like you know what you need to do. I would suggest going back to basics. Make sure you are focusing on protein and water. Track everything you eat, even those candy bars, so you get a real picture of your calorie intake. You've come this far and I'm sure you can get back on track and finish with those last few…
  • Wow, what a year for you! Thank you for sharing your progress and your wisdom and insight with us newcomers.
  • I have a fitbit one and I love it! I keep it clipped to my pants. I used to clip it to my bra but I wasn't getting an accurate step count. The one is very small and easy to clip in. It is a nice, secure clip. It hasn't gone through the wash yet but I have had to dig through the dirty laundry pile to retrieve it. But now I…
  • When I was just a little post-op, I was waking up with what I thought were terrible hunger pains. I switched my prilosec from the morning to the evening and that helped a lot. It sure did feel like hunger but I think it was more acids and gas in there. Also, get your protein in - it will keep you feeling full.
  • Welcome! I was sleeved on 7/29. I am still on the soft food stage but there really isn't anything else I want to add to my diet. This is a very supportive group and I've gotten a lot of good advice and insight. Feel free to friend me - my diary is open to friends. Good luck on your journey!
  • Great news! So glad everything went so smoothly for you. I am certain you are going to rock this whole thing!
  • I think I got sample packs from About Time, Syntrax Nectar and Unjury. There is a also called vitalady that sells samples.
  • I am going to address something a little differently than the other replies (though I am in 100% agreement that you could do serious harm to yourself!!). I am a single mom to 2 kids and I am committed to having a sit down dinner with them every night. That means I have to cook the food, serve it and sit and eat with them.…
  • I think I have a good packing list. I'll bring some yogurt for breakfast, a couple of protein bars just in case, string cheese and turkey pepperoni, almonds, etc. For the pie iron night, I'm just going to eat the insides - egg and bacon.
  • I was really happy to move to the pureed phase too. My favorites were low-fat corned beef hash and turkey chili.
  • As long as you like some kind of lean protein, I think you will be okay. I am two months post-sleeve and there really isn't a lot of variety in what I eat. I eat a greek yogurt for breakfast, lunch is string cheese and turkey pepperoni or two slices of deli meat, dinner is usually some kind of chicken. Sometimes I eat…
  • I wouldn't pre-cook before surgery. I would suggest getting some sample packs of protein drinks and powders. And a blender is a good idea. And make sure you have a food scale. I am 2 months post-op and on the soft food stage. i am still adjusting to buying and cooking the appropriate amount of food for me and my kids. I've…
  • Wow, you look great! And am I right that you had surgery in April, just 5 months ago? That is an amazing loss. What surgery did you have?
  • If you are feeling really good on the liquids, I would contact your doctor. My doctor moved me from clear liquids to full liquids sooner than planned and again from full liquids to purees sooner than planned. But don't do it without your doc's go ahead. Also, once I started on purees and soft foods, I really started to…
  • Such an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations!
  • I am 8 weeks post-sleeve, today. I just added protein bars in last week and only the Quest Bars (they get very mushy in your mouth.) I only eat 1/2 at a time and they are more an emergency food than anything planned. I get most of my protein from food - eggs, greek yogurt, chicken, turkey, cottage cheese, string cheese,…
  • Are you cooking or are you eating someone else's cooking? If you are cooking, I really wouldn't put in any effort other than making what your family usually has for the holiday. I am almost 8 weeks out and still on soft foods. I think turkey with gravy would be okay and will probably be the only thing you can manage. You…
  • That's an amazing accomplishment!! Congratulations!
  • Thanks! I'll look for it. I hate that fake chocolate taste.
  • I weigh daily in the mornings but I only "count" my Monday morning weigh-ins. Those are the ones I record. I like weighing daily because, in the past, when I have started to neglect caring for myself, I start by not weighing myself. The whole, "if I don't see it, it's not happening" mentality. I want to avoid that post…
  • That is an amazing accomplishment! At this one place I walk, I am regularly passed by an at least 80 year old man. But he's super fit!! It doesn't matter one little bit how you did compared to others, but that YOU did this!
  • I had surgery on 7/29, so about 6.5 weeks ago. Feel free to friend me, my diary is open to friends. The pre-op diet was the hardest, along with those first few days after surgery. But I was feeling pretty good after about one week post-surgery. Every day is easier and better than the day before.
