Did you find it hard to lose weight when training? What were your daily deficits? I usually come in around 1300 calories under what I burn because my workouts are so long...did you have that problem?

Glad you're ok. One time I was on a solo-century bike trip and someone opened a car door right in front of me when I was going ~25 mph. It flipped me over onto my back, denting the whole door. It cracked the helmet and bruised me pretty bad, but since my helmet hit the door, it pretty much saved me from something much much…

Try doing fasted-state runs, which basically means don't eat immediately before a workout. Then, add some HIIT sessions.

Id suggest spending the money on a BodyMedia FIT or BodyBugg so you know your actual total daily burn. That's what matters right? You can also see HR related graphs and such.. Try searching Craigslist. I got mine for 25% of the normal cost.
-
They also have the BodyMedia FIT for ~$200 including the subscription there too! <3 Costco...always pulling things out of its hat..

There's some good stuff in here, but I think its being hidden by all the superfluous and crap stuff. Is this copied straight from a Paleo site? Its disconcerting that it lists the first reason is that you're not following **its advice**. Paleo works because its higher in protein and satisfying, therefore helping people…

I'm training for the ironman which has a marathon for the third part of the race. It's going to be tough! Good luck!!
-
Yeah I had that and switching hi/lo/normal versions didn't help, so I quit them and it went away. Good luck,.

subway and.. oh subway! Oh saw your post... chinese places would be good if you have a stir fry and hold the sauces, plus get brown rice and sauteed chicken with it.

Ok it doesn't FLUSH toxins..your kidneys do...and it just means its more diluted. Anyways.. yeah its a problem..but its a good problem. Your body is hydrated and is appreciative, Im sure. When I swim laps, I have to get out multiple times to use the bathroom. Very annoying because someone always tries to steal my lane. At…

Your BMR isn't what you burn in a day. BMR multiplied by another number is your base caloric burn. Usually its 1.2 for sedentary, so your daily needs might be 1500*1.2 = 1800 calories per day to maintain. 1800-500 = 1300 net calories per day to lose 1 lb/week. ALSO, for lean subjects, the nervous system and your body's…

The 'magic button' is the cold hard truth that Biggest Loser delivers to every person that enters the show. They meet with a doctor that has the balls to look at them and tell them you are at risk of this, your arteries look like this, you are projected to die in 2022.. and the 'trainer'/family to tell them you are killing…

Tylenol/midol + exercise + water

picts or it didn't happen..
-
Yeah I get those kinds of numbers too. Awesome motivation and yeah I almost never can eat all those calories back :)
-
Where did you get that calculated? Its very difficult to estimate your true caloric needs from a simple 4-factor calculator.. Your daily caloric needs = BMR * Activity_Rate, which for sedentary is 1.2 (check yours here http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/ ) Total_Calorie_Needs = 1500*1.2 =…

4100 cal, as part of Ironman training... will beat that in one of my upcoming long workouts soon (will be 7 hrs..)

Eat your carbs. And your protein. And your fats. Also...this.
-
Depends what you're looking for? For me: Jack 3d energy supplement + powdered gatorade + carb powder workout drinks and 100% Whey immediately post-workout. I'd follow whatever Alan Aragon says if I were you because theres a lot of crap info out there on what does/doesn't work, i.e. BCAAs. Good luck..

I am professional trained as a chef and pastry chef, though I dont work in a kitchen anymore... Its one thing to cook and eat well, but its another to do it just because you can. I rarely bake because, well, it doesn't fit in my diet/lifestyle. I only do it for parties and such so it doesn't interfere with my fiance and my…

Protein is not a bad guy. If you're not losing, its due to something else besides eating more protein than the suggested MFP amount. Try meeting your caloric goal (instead of always under it) that MFP suggests since it already accounts for at least a 500 cal difference per day.

Ice ice ice and take care of them knees..

Way to try a tri! :) Well done, keep it up. Noticed that race was a reverse tri. Fun :)

Forget HRMs. You should get one you can wear all day like the BodyBugg or BodyMedia (better). I did some reviews.. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/rebeccabarter/view/weekly-bodymedia-fit-report-117377 http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/rebeccabarter/view/im-in-love-with-someone-else-s-bodymedia-fit-a-full-review-113347
