We are almost exactly the same size - and I've had weeks where I'm not losing but my clothes fit better. I've had success with the fitbit - and even with walking 10,000 steps a day, I don't burn more than 450.

Yay! There are shorts that I bought last year that I brought them home and they were too tight - I remember being soooo angry. This year, they are falling off of me and will need to buy new ones soon! Very very exciting - oh and yeah - I want to wear shorts!!

It tastes even better if toasted with a little coconut oil and curry powder before cooked. You can also use half water and half chicken broth to give it a deeper flavor. The first time I tried it I didn't realize that you had to cook it after you toasted it. >_< BLECH!!

I commend you for trying to medal in your first race - however, you should look at previous time for that specific race, understanding who will be entering. Have you tried Argus? It's an app that has a pedometer built in ( I have a fit bit and the steps are almost identical). It also tracks food and includes a heart rate monitor. It's a pretty nifty app!

I would agree with the food scale - it makes a huge difference - mine lives on the counter now! Also, take measurements and look at the measurements along with your weight - that might give you validation if you are not getting it from the scale!
