  • Oh totally doctors can be wrong/ill-informed/etc. But just because we don't 'pay' for our healthcare in the UK doesn't mean we have to just accept whatever the first doctor we see says - we can ask for a second opinion and/or we can ask to be referred to a specialist (I have done this myself and was not refused). We can…
  • I don't know if it's 'all in my head' or not but I definitely crave ALL THE CHOCOLATE and feel hungrier in general.
  • THANK YOU! I could not understand what her giving her doctor's name out would achieve. Like, it makes no sense to my British brain lol! I guess it just comes down to the vast differences between the UK and US healthcare systems...
  • Perhaps it's not necessarily "personal" information but what would be the POINT in giving out that information? Why do people want to know the name of a random nurse in a hospital somewhere? What would that achieve? I have to admit it if I was the OP and random strangers on the internet asked me to tell them my doctor's…
  • I imagine that's because they want extra business, right? That's not how our healthcare works in the UK. We don't "shop around" for our healthcare - we just go to one of our local GPs/hospitals. We don't have TV commercials for cancer drugs etc telling us to ask our doctor to prescribe that particular drug - our doctors…
  • Mashed potatoes are always worth it.
  • I agree with what others have said about just standing all day not being 'very active'. I have an office job but recently (a week ago) switched to a standing desk so I will also be standing for about 7 hours a day. I'm currently still set to sedentary - definitely wouldn't switch to very active but might change to lightly…
  • I totally understand what you're experiencing. Whenever I have a 'day off' and eat much more volume of food than I normally do I subsequently feel a lot hungrier/unsatisfied with my usual intake for a day or two afterwards. Unfortunately I don't have a magic wand type fix for this. I just try to tough it out, maybe do a…
  • OMG thank you so much for this! Been logging on MFP for almost 18 months and never once thought of this!
  • I have no experience with being too light to donate (at my goal weight now of 153lbs) and I'm not sure whereabouts you live but that sounds about the same as the limits where I live in Scotland. I believe there's also additional limits for females between 17-19 years old based on height/weight, although I'm not sure what…
  • I recently discovered Burgen's Soya & Linseed bread which is higher in protein than most breads so one slice for breakfast helps keep me fuller for longer. It also happens to taste delicious and is apparently rich in fibre, omega 3 and calcium. http://www.burgenbread.com/breads/soya-linseed/

  • Just looked this up as I had never heard of it before... LOL expensive tupperware! Waste of money.
  • Ok thanks that's good to hear. I am sometimes (not always) over my fat by 10-15g, sometimes less. Never really go over my carbs but I wouldn't say I'm eating low carb or anything. I haven't started my recomp yet so I will keep an eye on carbs once I do start and make adjustments if I feel I'm not fueling my workouts…
  • ok 0.8g of protein per pound I can definitely do most days no prob but the fat I sometimes go over that amount! Would that cause any issues with my recomp or am I fine as long as I get enough protein?
  • Ok thanks so much! I've heard so many different things about how much protein I should have, it's gets confusing. I'm definitely getting at least 84g though, usually quite a bit more. I just like protein, it keeps me fuller for longer! Good to know I'm getting enough and could even go a little lower on days when my carb…
  • *leaves work immediately and goes to nearest Krispy Kreme stockist*
  • This is what I have pretty much every morning. Just discovered this bread which is higher in protein than most others so extra filling! I rarely get very hungry before lunch. I boil a batch of eggs on a Sunday for the whole week to save time in the mornings - they keep just fine in the fridge (still in shells).
  • chocolate biscoff cake
  • Um... are you saying that 150g of chicken breast has 67g protein?? I don't know where you're getting your chicken from but I just logged 157g of chicken breast for my lunch tomorrow and it has 37g of protein... Are you sure the entry you're using in the database is correct? I usually check what the label on my actual…
  • Been looking for protein bars that actually taste good since I really don't like Quest bars. This one is lovely! Just like a normal chocolate bar to be honest, not at all chewy or tough. Loved it! (Not new but new to me.)
  • I had teriyaki chicken, rice and lettuce with ranch dressing.
  • Victoria sponge and lemon drizzle cake
  • Ferrero Rocher cake I made a while back.
  • Yep, sounds pretty familiar! For me "dieting" didn't work because I would go to extremes and try to completely cut out all the "bad" foods like chocolate, crisps, sweets, ice cream, pizza, fast food etc and it was too restrictive. So then I would just give up and when I wasn't "on a diet" I gave myself licence to go to the…
  • No but it says "1-3 hours of light exercise" and "3-5 hours of moderate exercise". I will be averaging more than 3 hours per week but not sure if the type of exercise would be considered moderate or not? So I was unsure which one to pick. But I think I've just decided to err on the side of caution and go with "1-3 hours…
  • My opinion is that most diet sodas are gross so I don't drink them. Also, I don't believe they cause cancer. Aspartame is not the devil. FYI neither is sugar. /opinion
  • sour cream and sweet chili sauce
  • About 140-180 depending on which bread I use. I have the same thing every day (during the week at least) - boiled egg on toast.
