I noticed a really big girl in my office looks slimmer but I'm reluctant to say something (even though I personally would love to hear it) because I don't want to offend - insinuating she either needed to lose weight/was overweight (both of which are true, but still)... I wonder if this is why few people are willing to ask

It works for me to log my heaviest cals first and then work the rest of my day around that. I plan out all my meals a day in advance, so if I want a heavy dinner, I have a lighter lunch, or fewer snacks during the day (or just different, lower calorie snacks). Maybe this would help?

You look amazing - I hope I look that great when I meet my goal
-
It actually DOES look like a lot. Great job :-) keep up the good work
-
Measure yourself! That should show a difference :-)

Weird!!! I just stumbled across your youtube channel today! (I can tell because your before/afters are up there) lol Congrats!

Put all the info into MFP and it'll spit out the cals you should eat. Once you get used to the site you can adjust them to meet your needs (put them up if you're starving, down if you're not losing any weight... within reason. Sometimes put them UP if you're not losing weight). For the first couple weeks I just went with…
-
I also notice that some things like - 2 slices of white bread and butter are a lot more than 26 calories. I think some of the cals MFP is giving you are off. I double check things against the packaging of what I'm eating before I enter it. --- unless you're just having a portion... that could be it I suppose.

Just flipping through your diary it looks like you're barely eating anything - are you recording everything you eat? That might have something to do with it. My huge issue is sodium. The scale doesn't move - or goes UP - if I eat too much. If you go into the settings area you can track how much you're taking in. That might…

This is my dream - I've always had a tummy over my pants. I want to be able to sit down and not have a gut. Congratulations - you look awesome!
-
i'm going to make this. mmmmm
-
Woo! I loved breaking that barrier :-) Congrats

Set it to 1/2 lb a week. I had similar weight goals. It'll give you more cals if you want to lose the weight slower.
-
I started March 31st I think - 11lbs in just over a month is great in theory but yeah, I was worried it was coming off a bit too fast. I added back 100 cals... I'm going to see if that slows it down (no giant loss this morning so I'm thinking it's helping a bit) and will add more if it keeps going so quickly. Thanks! :-)

Aah - sorry. Yeah I find if I input all the ingredients it's quicker than putting each ingredient in every single time :s Generally though in our recipes we use E.V. Olive Oil... never cook with salt (other than what's in some sauces)... and try to use veggies that are PC "blue menu" - low sodium, low fat.
-
Thanks! We generally eat fairly healthy so I haven't really had to change my diet - other than drinking less beer. I'll keep the fat thing in mind. I am thinking it's probably coming in the egg yolks and some recipes we make although we also try to use low-fat milk and extra-virgin olive oil :-) Thanks for the info!

This makes me wish there was an "inches" ticker :-)
-
That's cool :-) I can only hope I come out as slim as it made me look
-
THAT is frigin impressive. I am stubborn but there is no way in hell I could have those right in front of my face and not eat them. Congrats

I freaking love it. I always heard that tracking calories made a huge difference in weight loss but I wasn't motivated enough to carry a pencil and paper around. The BB app made it SO MUCH EASIER. And I always have my BlackBerry on me anyway... So awesome.
-
I am by no means an expert but I wouldn't... I don't know what your deficit is but it's possible 725 only pushed you up to a "maintenance" level. If so, I wouldn't worry about it and would continue on like normal. But that's just me.
-
I used to think the same thing but now I wonder if my perception was just kind of skewed. Still - aim for whatever you feel comfortable with. When you get there you can re-evaluate! For the record: I find the BMI thing depressing too :-(
-
That's awesome - Congrats! it's hard to remember that fitness doesn't necessarily = body size. I try and tell myself that all the time. Just because I'm trim doesn't mean that I'm fit!
-
This is my dream - good job! Very inspiring :-D
-
congrats!! I was so happy when I slipped into the overweight category :-)
-
Holy cow -t he difference is incredible! Good job!
-
Very impressive - congrats :-)

My husband's grandmother is a personal trainer. I love older women that stay in shape and refuse to become the chubby, weak "typical" grandma :-) I'm hoping I'll be like that some day!!
-
That's really too bad :( A lack of support could make it easier to give up. Try not to listen to him

I'm always on my BlackBerry so most people probably haven't noticed... But a couple people I've told have scoffed at either my calorie intake (insinuating I'm starving myself - I am NEVER hungry. I have over 1600 cals a day) or the fact I'm trying to get fit at all. People need to mind their own business. If it's what's…
