  • Exactly what I was going to say :) Some of the stuff is pretty cute too without killing the wallet.
  • Fruit sugars are no big deal to someone working out a lot and who is just "maintaining" but for someone who is trying to lose weight they are secret killers. If you have to have your fruit try to stick to berries which are the usually the lowest calories. http://www.green-tea-health-news.com/calories-in-fruit.html…
  • In that case I would double check your BMR and make sure you keep your deficit around 400-700 daily. I was going by the MFP 1200 default for like a month and lost no weight and then checked my info and raised mine to 1350 and have been losing weight since. But as always, it all depends on the body type and lifestyle. You…
  • This is also a very good article to read to explain a bit about the exercise calories... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173853-an-objective-look-at-eating-exercise-calories Also, did you set your goal to 1200 or did you let MFP default to it? If you have an active lifestyle (besides working out) that on it's own…
  • When it comes to all chicken and all fish (especially tuna in a can) I always use lemon pepper! Fresh squeezed lemon juice or jalapeno juice works wonders as well :) And I love a crunch, so celery and onion are a must.
  • This definitely gets a *bump* since it's the simplest explanation I've seen so far :flowerforyou:
  • From all the topics I've seen this guy explained it the simplest that I've found: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173853-an-objective-look-at-eating-exercise-calories :flowerforyou:
  • I totally agree with this because I can not stand to work out just for the sake of working out. Then it feels like a punishment for being fat. I agree with everyone that finding something you enjoy doing is the best option. Kids get so much exercise (at least they did when *I* was a kid LOL) because they are running around…
  • I was just about to post a WTF thread about Grapes when I spotted this thread :) A few days before payday so the kitchen is bare and decided grapes would be a much better choice for breakfast than the gross poptarts my brother eats and then was dismayed to discover that not only do they have 110cal per cup but 29 carb! (24…
  • Me too! As much as I love to check in and see my numbers within my goals, I think it's mostly the community that keeps me coming back! :)
  • From what I've noticed from a LOT of people on this site, many women want to lose as much weight as possible so they put the max hoped for weight loss and MFP gives the 1200 goal as a sort of default. I had that goal for over 2 weeks before I actually looked at my goal page and saw my calorie deficit was way over 500. 500…
  • I hope so :flowerforyou: Good luck!
  • And I gotta say I agree with this, whenever I eat a bunch of processed junk I end up feeling run down and tired. Even if you hate fruits and veggies, throw a vitamin shake or a V8 or 2 in there each day :) That's what I do when I don't have time to actually cook a decent meal.
  • It's possible that it's a bit too low for you, everyone needs to keep in mind that as awesome as MFP is, it is not always perfectly accurate, take a look at your goal page, and check the adjusted BMR and see what the calorie deficit is. If it is 500 calories or less you're fine, if it's more I would probably adjust it. I…
  • My motivation is kept right on my desk (at my home computer not my work lol) in the form of a picture of what I looked like a year ago in a skimpy bikini and next to that a picture of me now, 40lbs heavier. Best. Motivation. Ever.
  • Depending on what your Dr says if it is happening to you often it may just be the shape of your feet and/or the way your step and orthotics may be the simplest, cost effective solution. Assuming the Dr says it's not severe
  • Definitely rest those legs, I used to get shin splints really bad until I got orthodics made and I tried to push through once and ended up barely being able to walk I was in so much pain. I wouldn't even recommend walking (for exercise) the first day, but swimming is good or if you have access to one of those glider…
  • Ha ha! I have heard this before plenty of times as I am also a tall 5'8" woman and proud of it  I usually stick to about a 3-3.5 but I do have a few "special occasion" heels that are 4 and the way I figure, it makes it that much easier to see at a glance which men in the room are tall enough for me LOL Also most men…
  • Hey well done!     And those of you who can't see the pics just copy the links into a new tab, that's how I saw them :) Edit: ha ha or just look at joanneeee's post LOL
  • I can't believe I never thought of this, I actually have iron deficiency anemia but my whole life I've been terrible about remembering to take vitamins. Think I'll run to the store today and pick some up :) Thanks everyone for feeling my pain LOL I took a gander at some of those healthier bars that you guys mentioned, I…
  • Welcome to the community and good luck on your goals! ♥

  • For me it was also a picture but it was a picture of me from a couple of years ago when I was still tan and thin and exercising everyday. I saw it and thought, wow, I was never happy with my appearance and thought that size 3 was too big and I see it now and I looked great!! Then I pulled up pics from recently and thought…
  • Well I went ahead and bought it, figured I'd try it out and could return it if it's junk but I actually quite like it. The way it fits around the door is a bit odd but it does stay. The down side is the resistance bands are not all that heavy which is good for me now since I'm just starting to tone again but eventually I…
  • Hey congratz! I'm just getting back out there again myself, can't wait until I can do 20 minutes again =)
  • Oh thank goodness I stumbled across this thread...for a moment there after perusing this wonderful site, I thought I may be the only person who wasn't willing to sacrifice my "dessert" :blushing: Is there a way to bookmark specific threads in this forum?
  • I have also been wondering why the frozen fruit/veg is supposedly not as good for you? As far as the fresh chicken, I usually boil what I know I won't use right away and then put in the freezer. It makes it so easy to thaw in the microwave and use for any recipe later.
  • Yummm, thanks so much for sharing!
  • Hi everyone! It made my day to see this thread  I've had so many people tell me that just because I'm 5'8" that I'm supposed to be heavier. I think they're just trying to make me feel better LOL I have quite a small frame like a lot of you have been saying (narrow shoulders/hips, small feet and hands) and when I was…
  • Hi, I also started this recently because I found it on my Blackberry  Feel free to add me as well, since I lose motivation quickly I think friends here to kick my butt is a good thing!
