Your doing great! Keep the good work and do your best to stay on goal, and if you have a bad day, no big deal, let it go and move on!

+1 to this. Run Hard! you train longer then the race so you should have no problem amping up and going faster then you normally train at. I personally train around 10-11 minutes per mile, but when in races, i can can run 9-9:15 per mile.

i personally use my smart phone (Droid Charge) with a app called runkeeper. I like to have one device for everything.

Are you losing inches? (Smaller pants size, neck size, leg size, etc) when you work out you gain muscle and lose fat, sometimes that is a better way to look at things.

Just set your mind to it. Do you use a program that tells you your time when you run? (I use runkeeper on my android phone) with that program you can set it to tell you your pace every 5 minutes when you are running, if you find that you are falling behind you can pick up the pace.

the other tip i would say, night before drink a couple glasses of water, day of the race drink another glass. Walk at the Water stations so you don't spill water on yourself.

Welcome back and you can do it again! you did it the first time, and you as much as you need to workout, you don't need to to lose weight healthy. I had surgery back in June, and could not work out for 6 weeks and i lost weight during that time. Add me if you would like for support and you CAN do this!
