But they do benefit from the reduced traffic congestion from other people using lightrail and buses. Plus the draw to potential employers considering setting up shop in that city/state.

You have a source for this claim? Because that's a hell of a charge to toss out as fact. First, let me address something from this and the previous post. The program you are referencing is called SNAP. EBT is a card that is issued to people receiving government benefits. Multiple benefit programs get loaded onto the same…

I have a 9 year old son who expects me to do everything for him. This is regular conversation when I'm downstairs, sitting on the couch. "MOM! Bring me [item I'm capable of coming downstairs and getting myself]!" "No!" "MOM! Bring me [item I'm still capable of coming downstairs and getting myself]!" "No! I have Faith in my…

Mine keeps appearing the second I settle on my side in bed to watch something on the iPad. Oh were you looking at that? And need to read the subtitles?

Scientists? If it's completely false, can't be put up. If it's a "well it could be correlation, not causation", or "more research needed", say so. Basically we need peer reviewed websites.

Crumbled thin mints on top of your ice cream makes it a diet food.

Will eating a thin person?

That is so adorable.

If you have kidney issues or any other kind of medical condition/medication that could adversely affected by your diet, I would be talking to an actual dietitian and your doctor, not a trainer. Even if the trainer claims to be a "nutritionist".

Go to the doctor, NOW. Not next week, NOW. If you are diagnosed with MRSA, you could give it to your pets and family members. So have them checked out as well.

Single Payer Healthcare: It would actually be cheaper to tax employers & individuals to cover single payer healthcare than what is paid for health insurance. Especially for smaller employers (less than 10,000 employees) Investment in mass transit - Would it take an increase? Probably, but mostly it's redirecting existing…

See a doctor. You did already have chicken pox or the chicken pox vaccine right? Because that's another option. I didn't have chicken pox until high school and at first I thought it was acne.

Are they pimples or little skin tags? Could be irritation from a new detergent or friction from exercise. Are you showering after workouts or going to bed still dirty?

From the descriptions from my dad, I'm sure part of that weight is also water, not just fecal matter.
-
A few times in summer I've seen a "mini" size for the frappucinos. Those should be available year round. It's a small enough size to be a decent treat for a kid (obviously a non-caffeinated one).

Single payer healthcare, including nurse visits and dietitians. 32 hour workweek. Investment in mass transit systems over highways Longer school day with mandatory % of time in recess/PE/sports Tax breaks for companies that buy desk bikes/treadmills, provide a cafeteria, or pay for gym memberships or onsite doctor visits,…

You can't? If you eat excess calories, you will gain weight. It might be minor (wiping out the loss you would have had that week) or larger (wiping out last week's loss as well). Guilt is up to you. It's your brain. Cheat day is one of those phrases a lot of people dislike. You should look at it more like budgeting money,…

You can love your food, just don't love your food.

I'm late to yoga, but don't want to drop silent for several hours. Here is one article I found about it, it's not the only one I've read about it.…

What I find interesting is how little we are talking about how restaurants are failing to provide comfortable seating for medically normal weight range people, and it's on purpose. There have been several articles in the past year about how restaurant owners are purposely laying out their seating to be too close together…

At least ours is closer to file name convention: year, month, day.

Got into an argument with my dad about Pi Day. The only rules are it has to be perfectly round and relatively flat (Ritz cracker is pi, a meatball is not). My dad says it has to have the word "pie" in it. (In his world a hand pie would count!) Two snow days in a row ruined plans to celebrate at work, but I ordered a pizza…

15 lbs? I'm imaging a guy calling you over to his van in the alley for a "real deal" on an Apple Watch and telling you to ignore the dismembered lower arm still wearing it.
-
I don't even get a side. The cashiers treat me like I'm nuts or must mistakenly think it's an add-on.
-
I have an Apple Watch and the fitness tools are so far down on the list of reasons I have it that I wouldn't have gotten one if that was my sole reason. First was being able to see if I was getting an urgent call or text without having to either dig my phone out of my purse or carry around with me in the office. The second…

I created a custom cardio entry for Orangetheory Fitness. I put in the number of minutes and the calorie count from my workout report email. In the Fitness notes I put in the splat points, type of workout, and if I did something special like a benchmark time or a personal best.
-
And now there are three kinds of decorated oreos (ladybugs, spiders, and red worms in a pile of "dirt") and an icebox cake.
-
Right now there are 5 kinds of oreos in our breakroom (plus one gluten free oreo knockoff) oreo pie, milk & chocolate milk, and the fixings to make oreo milkshakes after lunch. I think it's a good start.

I wear TWO heart rate monitors when working out! I wear my Apple Watch all the time and when I'm at Orangetheory Fitness I wear my OTF one to link into their system. I find it highly useful. I get the calorie burn and see how much I stayed in the higher heartrate zones during my workout. I track that data in an Excel…
