Bad news.

US-Washington, DC....but is MFP not available in other places? Why not just an open question?

Were people being negative towards you or were they just not responding alot? First scenario is unacceptable and good that you dumped them . Second scenario, well folks might be busy....

I'm not surprised. Most of weight loss and gain has to do with diet. It takes alot of effort to shed calories, but far less effort (although plenty of willpower!) to not put them in the mouth in the first place. I myself have taken off several pounds numerous times without much exercise, including losing 50lb in 2 months…

I work 3 14-hour workdays Sun/Mo/Tu, so if I can exercise at all, it is going to be walking to (1.25mi) and/ or fro (1.7mi) work. I usually feel too weak and haven't eaten enough before leaving the house in the morning to walk to work, but I usually walk home at night. Even though I'm shot and the distance is slightly…

This. 1000x.

I tend to fall on the personal responsibility side, although not 100%. But a bacon sundae? I think I just puked in my mouth!

Adele's weight has gone up and down alot, so that's a changeable answer to me. Technically, she's always been at least a little overweight by medical standards. There have been points where she has clearly been heavy. Has she ever been extremely heavy? Not really. However, I would say she's always been at least…

I don't mind as being in customer service for a decade I call every stranger ma'am or sir out of habit, even people who I believe may be younger than me. However, like others have pointed out, I HATE being called "miss". If it was "Miss" followed by my name, that's fine, but just "miss" irks me to no end.

Even though its so common, honestly, I prefer Rose here. That g sound is just sounding a little harsh when I play it in my head. But it's your kid!

welcome and feel free to add me as a friend!

Go ahead and add me if you'd like. I've been here over 100 days and love it and I'm losing alot of weight!

Uh...never had a bug in my veggies.

I've really only had good experiences here. I'm sure the boards are full of snark, but that's what you get with message boards and the internet in general. Mainly, I've found most MFP people to be nice and supportive.

I still think the good old apple gives the most bang for buck. Or a pear. Or cheese and crackers maybe.

My ticker is purely since the start of MFP. I achieved, if you will, my peak weight of 224 a week prior to joining this community, so I have lost 22lb. But all 20 on my ticker have been from MFP. The only supplement I take is a multivitamin.

I'm mostly vegetarian. I eat a piece of meat maybe once every 2 months. When I began looking at my nutrient charts, I realized I was probably never going to meet requirements on some of the stuff, especially iron, without help. And I've been slightly anemic at some past blood draws. So, I began taking a simple one-a-day…

As everyone has been saying, please remember that not all sugars and not all calories are created equal. Don't get bent out of shape over raisins. The calorie content in nuts can raise eyebrows, too, but they're still good for you. Same thing with granola. All in moderation of course. And 130 calories really isn't that…

No. It would take regular going over your calorie allotment to gain weight. I have a day every now and again where I drink too much or eat too many calories and as long as I am good the rest of the week, I continue to regularly lose weight. Just for example, one day two weeks ago, we had a party for work and I drank a…

I kind of think of it that way. Like each day, I have so much in an account and I'm allowed to spend that much and then a little more gets put in when I exercise, etc. It's kind of easy and fun to relate it to something well...relatable...like keeping your checkbook balanced.

I can tell a little. The first place I lose weight is in my face, too, and at 11lb down (13lb since my peak weight before starting this program), I am now starting to show the first signs of facial thinning and people are noticing.
-
The simple answer to this question is yes. Most of losing weight is diet. But I know that I, personally, don't want to be just thinner and still feel like c*** and have no muscles, no stamina, no athletic ability and not have alot of the health (not to mention mental health) benefits that come with regular physical…

Amen!

I have a great deal more weight to lose than you, but one can never have too many fitness friends, no? Feel free to add me.

If you have digital cable, turn on the electronic dance music TV station. I don't know if you like that stuff, but it's high energy and you feel like you're in the club for a little bit.

Welcome! I'm at 217 and was 224 at my highest, so I know what you mean.

I have read that the body does actually require more calories during this time, but I don't claim to know if this is true. Any nutritionists or doctors in the house? I would say if you are hungrier, maybe take in a couple hundred extra calories. Most of us stay under our goals anyway. But make those healthy calories, not…

Sorry your meds have had such bad side effects for you. I take valproic acid twice daily and clonazepam as needed and have been largely side-effect free. I think I may have gained some weight from it, but honestly, my weight has been yo-yoing for 10 years, so it's hard to tell what's what. I'll know in a few weeks, I…

I've noticed a similar lack of cravings. I had the hugest sweet tooth and I don't think I've had a sweet other than pudding cups in the last week or so. And I don't crave the pudding. It just happens to be small, soft, and not terribly caloric if I get hungry between meals. Usually, I eat fruit, though.

The frequency is definitely more fiber and you can get sudden urges from a high fiber diet. This may be TMI, but I go like 3x/day routinely and it is not unusual for me to not have to go one minute and have to go the next. I wouldn't worry about the undigested leaves too much. You may also see undigested pepper skins and…
