I haven't seen anyone mention this and I haven't done much with it yet; but I picked up "Get Fit for Free & Ditch the Gym" (http://www.amazon.ca/Get-Free-Ditch-Step---Steo/dp/1606521934/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1323435917&sr=8-5); I think it has a terrific approach. The book describes 48 exercies you can do at home with…

I think a great meaningful gift (anytime) is a charitible donation made in someone's name, you support a good cause and you let your friend know that you were thinging of them... just my $0.02

My father did this for years, but he would essentially "snort" a glass of salt water. He swore by it...

I'm usually over on my fiber target. I start out the day with 2 tsp of Psyillium Fiber Husks - ~3g fiber which doesn't get logged. But apart from that I eat quite a bit of vegies every day, and usually have oatmeal or a high fiber cerial for breakfast... Mike

I know lots of people who do this; it wouldn't bother me. But, I would would be put out if you ordered a bunch of extra food; say ordered two apps and and entree and then packed up most or all of the entree; I'd feel a bit taken advantage of

Just a suggestion (well two actually): 1) Take the picture at home (assuming you have a mirror there); or better yet 2) Ask someone to take your picture for you... Just saying...

I just found this nifty calculation site - http://www.cordianet.com/calculator.htm

The BMR calculator is just giving you an estimate of your BMR, for you to maintain your weight if all you were bed-ridden  You have to factor in your activity level which even for a sedentary person is 1.2 (check out http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/) this is what MFP uses to…

A lot of Greek restaurants offer a combo platter that will give you small servings of several dishes; a good way to get lot of variety. With Greek salad most restaurants offer two types there is the standard "North American" salad which usual includes romaine or some other type of lettuce and there is the "horiatiki" which…

I have too many friends who are working musicians not to buy music, I know how much they depend on those sales.

I still have a long way to go to get to my goal weight, but I figured that maintaining would just be a matter or figuring out what my "real" BMR is and just eating to match. The problem will be that your "real" BMR will be almost impossible to figure out and everything else is an estimate. Even if we get a good guess at…

In general I like to have my music on CDs, I prefer to buy as directly from the artist as possible as that maximizes the money going to them. Online, I buy from amazon.ca, and cdbaby.com. I have caved and resorted to digital downloads a couple of times; I have bought from www.7digital.com.

Go for Photoshop Elements, it combines the organizational features of Lightroom and many of the editing features of the full Photoshop, about the only thing I wish I could do in Elements, that I can't, is to script activities. Unless you are a student or an educator the full version of Photoshop and Lightroom is very…

I weigh-in every Saturday morning, because I usually have a little more free time on Saturdays before I have to be somewhere or start something. If I can't do my weigh-in I simply skip it for that week. I also do all my measurements at the same time (Neck, Left Bicep, Chest, Waist, Hips, and Left Thigh). I always record…

I use the BF% on my home scale as just a gage relative to itself; as long as the percentage keeps going down I don't worry at this point whether it is 38 or 40 it is still too high

Try Jicama or Celery Root. The Jicama is good raw and sauted. The Celery Root is great mashed. Both are tubers - the celery root tends to have a lot of dirt in the upper third that has to be cut away. Good Luck!
