You are welcome to look at my food diary, back when I started I was at that level and on exercise days I've often eaten that much or more. But frankly I don't really care about any of the macro nutrients, all I really care about is avoiding white foods (most of the time) eating fruits and vegies and making sure I get a…

I have several friends that claim that it has gone to them :-)

First of all, I walk, not run. Second, I almost always come in last or near last, who cares? The important thing is to have fun and get some exercise. I don't even care if I finish, although I always have. And I can think about all the people I beat who didn't even try...

If the doctor didn't even discuss what your diet is then he's not doing his job. You can be overeating and still not be getting the correct micro nutrients. I'd suggest you need a second opinion (and maybe a new doctor!) Mike

As a matter of fact, yes I do find it offensive.

Looks great, but I think you might have provided the link to the original article: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/mushroom-parmesan-recipe/index.html Mike

As far as I'm concerned all Mom's are working, just sayin' Mike

I think we need to learn to forgive ourselves to allow us to forgive others, just remember you can forgive but that doesn't mean you have to forget. If religion/faith works for you then that can be a great help. You might want to check out the book reviewed here…

Not so much embarrassing as uncomfortable  A couple of weeks ago I was at work when I discovered that the pair of underwear I was wearing would not stay up, nobody knew, I wear pants  so they weren't going anywhere far; but it sure felt weird. That pair of underwear have since been "recycled". I knew when I…

And who are you to be giving advice, what are your credentials? What you've just done is paraphrase the intent of his first point. Frankly, most of what he said was just good, basic, common sense advice. MIke

Good post, and timely as I'm looking at trying to add some strength training to my normal routine (cardio). Thanks, Mike

Personally, I find this kind of post offensive, what a self-righteous attitude. If you don't like what someone logs or how they live their lives or feed themselves or how they exercise, keep your nose out of their diaries and find some other friends who can tolerate your attitude. The only person who should have to justify…

I wish my gym would enforce the no scent policy

I love the Bolthouse dressings too; check out the Litehouse "Toasted Sesame Ginger" and "Organic Raspberry Lime Vinaigrette" dressings - lots of flavor and only 20 calories per tablespoon!

I'm sorry, but what do you eat then?

Here's a hint - Chew

I weigh 277.2 pounds as of this morning. My exercise is primarly 1 hour of treadmill walking 3 or 4 times a week - I keep increasing speed and incline to keep my HR up. Once Spring arrives here I plan on getting out on my bike and back to walking outdoors. I will eventually incorporate more strength training excercise into…

I use one with chest strap and I use this site to calculate the burn: http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/ (the HRM gives Bogus results for calorie burn, but I trust it to track my HR) MIke

Fitness and weight loss are not so much hobbies as a means to an end. My hobbies include singing (folk and choral), Folk music (actually most forms of music, but folk music in particular  ), cooking, photography, walking/hiking, cycling, reading, Toastmasters (Public Speaking and Leadership)...
