Right there with ya! Let's finish one and then that's the time to beat for the next one, right?

Thanks, Brian! That's what I keep telling myself - it's Canada in Sep - should be coolish.

Great tips - thanks!

Thanks for asking! Training for my first half marathon (gulp) next month. Montreal Sep 23 - Rock n Roll Half Currently wishing I'd signed up for a Spring race so I could train in winter. Heat/humidity are killing me.

It's sort of cliche, but in your case I am totally sincere to say you look so much younger in your "during" photos! It's uncanny. You lost 56 and gained 20 years. You look amazing. Thanks for the shot of inspiration!

Wow that's a huge loss. I can't believe you were 300 lbs - you carried it very well. You look incredible now though - amazing transformation. I need to find some of these challenges lol!

You look so strong and healthy and happy! Thank you for sharing this amazing transformation. I know the next time my will to work out fails me, I'm going to be thinking of your first walks with your cane.

Thank you for sharing your story. You look fantastic and so happy! I love that you touched on the tough times - it's not a linear process, there are ups and downs. Congratulations!!

Great topic, thanks for starting the thread! Lots of good advice already posted - Runners World is a great resource and inspiration. I'll chime in that I am also training for my first Half in late Sept (Rock-n-Roll Montreal - anyone else?) I currently follow Galloway's training plan, which is a run/walk. I'm running 3 days…

What a sensible, livable approach. Kudos! That 50 on the ticker is definitely worth savoring.

Congrats on your loss!

Congrats to you! And thanks for sharing your experience. I worry about the long-term (prematurely, right? i should lose some lbs before I worry about maintaining lol) and it sounds like you've found a great way to make this into a lifelong eating plan. I'm a runner and so far have no energy problems, but do worry about…

Thanks--I'll give that brand a shot. I like the idea of having it around, just in case.

The good news is you are enjoying yourself! I think signing up for races is a huge motivator. Even if you take walk breaks (or just stop at the water stations), there is a huge feeling of accomplishment. I often repeated weeks when I was on C25K, like when I felt I wasn't ready for the next running segment length. Maybe…

I finally made something without kale...carrots, celery, pears & 1 apple. And ginger of course. Actually got invited to an event w/Joe Cross this week. I saw the doc 2x so am excited to meet him in person.

Dipping my toe in the pool. I just dusted off my juicer and made my 1st juice! Huge bunch kale (yields an inch of juice!) 3 celery stalk 2 generic apples 1 pear Not bad. Stuck it in the freezer though. I forgot lemons/ginger or other flavor boosters. I did have some organic peach-mango juice in the fridge. Just adding a…

Short answer: Super safe! I've lived here over 12 years now and live about 5 blocks from Central Park. Even when I've run w/my bf at night, there are police patrolling the routes. (I wouldn't recommend running at night only because it took me about 8 years to learn the routes without ending up lost.) On the weekends Park…
