(What's that purple thing on the floor?).

Well, especially if you have already decided you want to prepare a healthier version and people are ignoring what you've said!

Squeezed a lift in this morning before a couple of nights away with work. Squat 5,6,6,6,6 @117.5lb OHP 3,3,3,3,3 @51.5lb (each press took me an age). DL 5 @ 150.5lb (I was showing that barbell who was boss today).

Good idea for a thread btw.

- Choose turkey or chicken over fattier birds such as goose or duck. - Stick to the leaner meat such as breast and don't eat skin or crackling. - Steam or boil veggies rather than roast. - Use low-fat alternatives to butter and cream for mashed vegetables. - Add flavour with seasoning and herbs rather than fat. I can't…

I understand that eating under your BMR is not a sensible thing to do. I did it for weeks, because that's what MFP calculated for me. I have not noticed any lasting effects. I'm not sure what you mean by a metabolism reset. Why don't you just your calories to 1400?
-
That's not what we're challenging. We're challenging recording 1 serving today, tomorrow and every day, when in fact 3 servings' worth of calories are being eaten daily. If this weren't the case, she'd be losing weight.

Yet I'm sooo pleased that the *kitten* horrible "women who don't shave" thread is still going along nicely.
-
Thanks folks, appreciate those tips. I think I'm still doing ok.
-
So, you're not logging everything you eat, and when you do log, you're not doing so accurately?
-
How come you're not eating dinner on the 500 cal days?
-
You're not weighing your food accurately, so the plateau is probably due to the fact you are eating too many calories.
-
It may help if you opened your diary.
-
I think you made the right call.

Question My squat is getting less low as the weight gets heavy. Do you think I should continue to increase (as I feel I have it in me), or should I deload and work on form before things get worse?
-
Ha! Love it.

A few months ago I promised myself that I'd challenge sexism when I saw it. It was the fact that other people had been doing this that educated me about feminism. But you know what, you have to trust your instincts and stay safe.

Well, I think it's pretty human to believe in "shoulds". I think women should have opportunities equal to men. When they go in to a gym, they shouldn't be told, "No love, you shouldn't be lifting those big weights, they're just for men".
-
M27, a person starts a thread saying, "I was patronised today, I was treated with prejudice". The replies should be, "he was wrong". They should not be, "get over yourself, stop being a victim, don't get angry, just accept it".
-
Women put up with this *kitten* all of the time. It's not insignificant, it's day in, day out. People should be bloody angry about it, they should show their displeasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1XGPvbWn0A

See, it's so much easier to victim-blame.
-
I would go for the weightlifting gains, eat the food to support that goal and cut out the food and drink that you make your tummy bloat.
-
I agree with Jem you're in the best position for changing your body. Start reading up on weight lifting (in addition to the ones Jem says I also read people recommend Starting Strength) and nutrition.
-
Tell that to those who have protested for the rights of, say, black people and gay people. It's ok for women to get angry when they suffer from prejudice.
-
Squats 5x5 @ 118lb Bench 5x5 @ 56lb Rows 5x5 @ I forget, but it went up. I think these are right, in a bit of a dash today and haven't bothered to get my little book...

Interesting how the response you got in the main forum to the same opening post is so different to what you got in here.
-
Yes, the advice is often that the woman has to change her behaviour. If you look out for this you will notice how less often there is mention that the person with anti-woman attitudes should change their behaviour.
-
This is a very interesting point. I have fairly long legs in proportion to my height. In general men tend to have shorter legs and longer torsos, so I wonder if most advice is aimed at those body proportions? Similar with us having different hips and hip joints?

The trainer who gave the guy feedback on your assessment, were they male or female?

It's the reducing of women to nothing but another orifice to penetrate.
