  • If you're going by MFP's recommended calorie intake, then yes, you should eat back at least a good portion of your exercise calories. They already have your deficit needed for weight loss built in. Burning calories through exercise is increasing your deficit, which isn't good over the long run.
  • Don't worry. It's not as complicated as it sounds. If you're putting everything into MFP, it keeps track of the macros for you. Over time, you'll be able to see what you may need more of and you'll figure out ways to add protein, fat, or carbs to your diet. Your stats are actually very close to mine. I'm 5'2" around 140…
  • How tall are you? Using a food scale is no more obsessive than weiging every day (or multiple times a day), exercising every day, or cutting out food or drinks that you love. Weighing your food is the best way to ensure that you aren't eating more than you should. And it really isn't as time-consuming or hard as people…
  • Your weight fluctuates throughout the day because of the amount of water and/or food that you have consumed, then you eliminate some of it. The accurate way to weigh yourself is to pick one time of day and stick with it. The best time of day will probably be right after you wake up and pee. In the nude is also best so you…
  • She's making excellent progress. If she would change her goal to losing .5 or 1 pound per week, she will have more calories to eat and the risk of burnout goes way down.
  • I have an adrenal gland problem which leads to my BP dropping when I get up after lying down. This causes me to feel light-headed. However, I wouldn't say that your BP is the problem unless you are actually checking it. If you don't have a home BP monitor, it would be worth it to get one if you continue to think this is…
  • Black licorice does NOT lead to belly fat! It's too gross for anyone to eat. It's the strawberry kind that causes belly fat. I'd post a picture to prove it, but I don't want to. It's also too gross. Granted, I did eat strawberry Twizzlers by the bag. But I stand by my statement.
  • One more thing: I see that you've just joined, so I'm assuming you're just starting out. Patience is very important in losing weight. We always want it to fall off quickly, but it just won't happen. Weight loss is not usually linear. It's more like a squiggly line. But as long as you are experiencing a downward trend,…
  • There's really nothing left to suggest. The previous posters have pretty much covered it.
  • Your profile says you are an 18 year old male. Based on that alone, you should be eating quite a bit more than 1100-1300 calories per day. (Unless you're about 5 feet tall) For goodness' sake, man, eat! Anyway, I'm guessing the reason you aren't seeing weight loss is because you are weighing in the middle of the day. That…
  • My advice is to pick one day per week to do all your food prep. Just make time in your schedule for it. Cut up your veggies and even go ahead and weigh them and portion them out. Boil the eggs you think you'll need. Peel them and put them in a bowl of water. They should keep for about a week. Cook your chicken and…
  • So much awesome!! You ladies around here inspire me!
  • Everything. Mostly potato chips, though.
  • Another great argument for using a food scale ????
  • I LOVE Taebo! I've been doing it on and off since I was about 12. To the previous poster, you can view plenty of videos on youtube. ;)
  • I'm still baffled by the amount of people who think it's more time-consuming and harder to weigh their food as opposed to using measuring cups. I just don't get it. I'm not trying to sound rude, either. Not having to wash extra dishes is enough to convince me that a food scale is the way to go.
  • I like turkey bacon. I'm not so sure on reduced fat pb.
  • They're not. Flaked or whole, they taste good and are perfectly healthy. Just gotta fit them in!
  • Please learn from the OP and others who learned the hard way. Stop now!

  • So glad you are okay!! There are still going to be multiple posts per day from people asking if phentermine is effective. People don't care so much if something is safe. They just want to know if it works. I'll be bookmarking your thread for the next person I see inquiring about this drug.

  • In your situation, your nephew sounds like a perfect babysitter. I'm kinda jealous.
  • Then who or what is the deciding factor in whether or not something is overrated?
  • Yikes! People get all upset over their favorite tv shows. I will say (from my own opinion, of course) that The Walking Dead is overrated simply because I have absolutely zero interest in that kind of thing. My opinion is that zombie shows are stupid, so obviously, that show is going to be overrated. In my opinion. See how…
  • If TLC is wanting us to learn from the shows they are airing these days, they must want us to be a society of complete and utter morons. And rednecks. I say Duck Dynasty is overrated. It was okay at first, but Personally, I'm tired of seeing them everywhere!
  • Yep, me too!
  • I suffer from this sort of problem, as well. In an area slightly higher than yours. My left side has always been bigger than the right, but as I've lost weight, the difference has gotten worse and definitely more noticeable. I guess just keep maintaining the calorie deficit and hope it all evens out. I'm sure your one love…
  • Since you have quite a bit to lose, you could probably do 10 pounds in a month safely. But don't rush it. Remember the tortoise - slow and steady wins the race! (Cheesy, I know.)
  • NOW the replies are going to get nasty......
  • Actually, I don't think you will get a ton of negative comments. Maybe a few, but most people here advocate doing whatever works for you as long as you're eating all of your calories. My lunch that I'm currently eating is about 1000 calories. Granted, it's not my only meal, but I find that I enjoy eating a big lunch and…
