  • Take some of my calories for the day. Just promise me I can have them back sometime soon. :-)
  • Maybe consider a pet that does well in apartments and doesn't mind 10 hours alone every day? http://www.chiapet.com/
  • What sullus said... Go skiing, waterskiing, jet skiing, etc. ...but not in the same day...either the skiing would be terrible or the water would be very cold...or both.
  • Morning, night, and sometimes during the day. It's fascinating to see the fluctuations based on what I've eaten, how much water I've had, etc. Sometimes I can even predict what I will weigh before I step on the scale. It's also fun to see how much my weight decreases during the night. I'm such a nerd. :glasses:
  • I think CindyMarcuz nailed it. ...say you show up out of the blue with healthy, "better" options. Will the family be bothered? Possibly, perhaps just because they weren't expecting it and it's a reminder to them that they aren't eating right. ...but say you communicate with them beforehand. Show appreciation, love, etc.…
  • The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second-best time is now. Sure--you didn't "plant a tree" 20 years ago, but you're planting one now. Good job.
  • My $0.02: Note: I am NOT any sort of a diet and exercise expert. I'm just some guy who has enjoyed the results MyFitnessPal has given him. So, here goes... Yeah--seems realistic and healthy to me. You say you're up a total of 28 pounds from Dec 2011 to today--29 months. If you set your goal in MyFitnessPal to 1/2 pound per…
  • My thoughts: 50 lbs in 80 days is just over 4.5 lbs per week. Don't overdo it. Depending on your current weight and various other factors, you might lose that much each week for the first few weeks, but I wouldn't count on it for 11 weeks straight. There's no use in starving (and therefore being tired, grouchy, etc.) every…
  • Yeah...it seems BMI can be a decent guide, but it has significant flaws. Example: My older brother is quite a bit heavier (40 or 50 pounds, perhaps) than I am. But it's not fat--it's pure beef...MUSCLE. He's in fantastic shape. I'm in the "normal" BMI range, and I wouldn't be surprised if his BMI showed him as "overweight"…
  • What Forty6and2 said... That's right on. Surely difficult, especially right now with such a frustrating experience, but dang--it could be a perfect "before" picture (and a perfect "before" STORY) to post a year from now. I'm hoping for a fantastic "success stories" post from you sometime soon...Mother's Day 2015 perhaps?
  • A week ago, I wore to church a suit I still have from my 19-years-ago mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I haven't fit in it forever, and I was never quite sure why I kept that way-too-tight suit around. Sentimental value, I guess. It was still a bit tight last week, but not bad, and very usable.…
