 This ^ Nay, I do however take an omega 3 on days I don't eat fish (not everyday) I have done a ton of research on supplements recently. Also, I give my youngest a calcium supp. because she is lactose intolerant and won't drink juice. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA and they don't even have to have what…

Major soap box for me! I do NOT restrict carbs I restrict the types of carbs I eat. I aim for as many veggies as I can handle, some (nor more than 2 servings/day) fruits, and very few whole grains. :flowerforyou:

Whats funny is this thread now has two highly thread lockdown topics hidden in it and one would never know by the title.

Have you never watched porn? Even Jenny Mcarthy does it!

I'm not arguing as I totally agree about the combo carb and protein point. but I think it's funny that article says coke and nutrition in the same inference. "He likes a "pop like Coke or Fanta immediately and a PB&J (peanut butter and jelly sandwich) soon after, followed by a long cool-down for recovery." Kikkan Randall,…

 Not me though I look like that model posing in the first pic.................... only my hair is wonky, half hanging out the pony tail, sweat dripping off my face that is beet red with a look of self loathing in my eyes. Yea, maybe I look more like the second pic after all.

Agree, Sorry sweety but you would be better off kicking the slim fast and eating a nutritious lunch. :)

You can quote who ever you want. Your wrong. I know what the technical term for an essential nutrient is. Doesn't change the fact that not only do the majority of the MICRO nutrients come from the MACRO CHO, but Glucose is essential to many areas of the body. When the body is FORCED to make glucose it does so by converting…

Carbs are essential to the body. ESSENTIAL to some areas of the brain and red blood cells, as well as the primary source of energy for your muscles and the entire brain. I could go on and on about this giving way too much detail but I will spare you. The point is to stay away from refined carbs (bread, chips, refined…

Lactose is made up of two monosaccharide molecules, the bond that binds them together is NOT digestible by the majority of human enzymes. Infants are born with lactase but once the child is weaned from breastmilk the body losses the ability to produce lactase. The ethnicities that do have the lactase enzyme tend to be from…

ohh good grief! That sounds amazing.

The bands and tape CAN be detrimental. Unless you have been recommended by a Dr. to wear one I wouldn't. The majority of people who use them shouldn't. :( . Pain is never a good thing. RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation and some advil) I also really love Tiger Balm  You have the time before the race so listen…

I just want to say good for you for starting! There isn't a right or wrong way to go about it. You just need to make sure that your bones as well as your muscles have time to heal in between. For me the c25k program didn't work. I found it was easier to set a dist. and run that dist no matter what; even if I was shuffling…

Neither of my parents are athletic. This is something that I found I am good at as an adult. My youngest daughter is a born runner. She  Loves to run with me! My older daughter is not an athlete but a mathlete. I encourage her to do activities she enjoys (jumping rope for IE) but the poor kid has very little…
