  • My personal health coach says that unless you have abdominal or back injuries, the core muscles of the stomach can take being worked on a daily basis. I find that sometimes *I* want a break, but my tummy seems to be doing alright... HTH!

  • When I met with one of the personal trainers at our gym & expressed my concern over this issue, he said the biggest reason for excess skin is weight loss that happens too quickly ~ just one of the MANY reasons fad/quick-fix diets aren't good for us. He continued to say that our skin is constantly regenerating, and if we…
  • Hi & welcome! :flowerforyou: I am not a breakfast person, so this is the meal that I have always struggled with. If I wait til my body says, "you're hungry," I typically will throw off the entire day's schedule for meals. When I mentioned this dilemma to my health coach, she suggested smoothies. I can have it when I'm…
  • It usually takes my body 7-10 days, sometimes as much as 2 weeks, to regulate, but once I'm being faithful, I don't have that gotta-go-all-the-time thing. I heard someone describe it once like this: your body doesn't want to lose too much fluid, so when it isn't getting properly hydrated, it holds on to whatever it gets…

  • ...people you haven't seen in awhile make a point to ask how much weight you've lost.
  • Congrats on all the successes, everyone! I recently got into my favorite pair of jeans and capris ~ the ones I've been saving for "when I get back in a 16." Yes, they're still a bit snug, but there was no muffin-toppage and I could wear them out comfortably. WOOT!
  • Welcome, Michelle! My Fitness Pal was the thing I needed in my very busy life to help me get started & stick to my goals. I homeschool my kids & work part time ~ crazy! But with MFP I've been able to keep track of my eating & exercise. You can do it! Glad you're here! :flowerforyou:
  • SO true! Just remember, the person who has lost 75 pounds had once only lost two...keep up the good work!
  • Love this idea! According to The Huffington Post, I've lost the average handbag.
  • Not to add confusion, but the first-thing-in-the-morning weigh in doesn't work for me. I have found my lowest weight point of the day is around 12 noon. Crazy, right? I just think we're all different. Find a weekly system that works from you. Begin your record-keeping when you have your scale at home (just a suggestion)…

  • Great ideas, everyone! Thank you!! The pedicure & date with my hubby are really resonating with me. The $100 shopping spree? I kinda already did that... So maybe I'll wear some of my new SMALLER clothes out on the date! Also, maybe I'll do some kind of 100-related fitness challenge? Like 100 sit-ups, 100…
  • Hi there, I don't have any suggestions for websites, but I can share what I do. :) It's just a simple exercise, but I can always tell I've worked certain muscle groups when I'm done. To isolate & work my tummy & upper body muscles (arms, shoulders, upper back, pectorals), I pick up my legs in the water (sometimes I…
  • (((hugs))) It's been 10 years this August for me. I really do try to focus on being the Mom to my kids, but picking out cards for my sisters & grandmother each year is such a painful process...much less all the TV, radio, & internet stuff. *sigh* Hang in there ~ you aren't alone.
  • I'm not on WW, but I would like to encourage you that sometimes, some people, some body styles, etc., have to work hard for each pound. I've carried my extra 60 pounds long enough now that my body is "content" to keep it, you know? I've been doing this faithfully for 70+ days, exercising regularly, making good food choices…
  • WOOT! That is awesome! Thank you for taking the time to share your success with us ~ it means so much. Blessings to you as you continue on your journey. :flowerforyou:
  • Welcome! :flowerforyou: If you are a computer person, I will venture to say that you are in the right place. Staying faithful to coming here EVERY DAY and logging in what you eat and how much you exercise (even if you have to guess-timate at times) will keep you on a steady losing track. I've been here 60+ days and I've…

  • This is not a suggestion for an alternative dressing, but a suggestion on how to eat less of the one you love. Back when I was doing a weight-loss program called First Place, one of their recommendations was to put one tablespoon of dressing ~ actually measure it out ~ in a little cup on the side of your plate (we…
  • From what I understand, changes, especially adding significant exercise, can alter your cycle. This has definitely been true for me. Over the last several years, I could nearly set a watch by my cycle. The last two months? No way. This month, I was 4 days late. I've been told it will regulate eventually. I try to remember…
  • Thank you for the input & the name of the HRM you use ~ already googled it.
  • I wish I was going to get to watch this weekend, but it's gonna have to wait. BOO! I also haven't seen Remember Me yet. I am FAIL! I love the books (Eclipse is my fave of the four) and the movies have been fun so far. Have fun this weekend, y'all!

  • Another variation I love of this is oatmeal, vanilla extract, peanut butter & cut up banana (from Simple & Delicious magazine). It's AWESOME! :)
  • Welcome! I wish I had lost my weight 10 years ago after my son was born. Good for you! This site makes it so easy to see where you need to make changes. Glad you're here! :flowerforyou:
  • If you like cold foods too, I have really enjoyed mixing Kashi Go Lean Crunch! cereal with Stonyfield Organic Low Fat French Vanilla yogurt. The cereal meets my need for a little crunch in my diet & the yogurt is soooo yummy, I don't even miss not having ice cream. I also use a smaller portion for a snack sometimes. GOOD…
  • I'm 5'9" & I really like Mossimo jeans at Target. I also like Old Navy/Gap because you can actually buy Tall length in the plus sizes (online only). HTH! :flowerforyou:
  • This is SO encouraging! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. My BFF & I started the C25K program a couple of years ago, but never finished. Since joining MFP & seeing others' success with it, I've been considering trying it again. Thanks again & CONGRATS!
  • I agree! And congratulations! These are the types of posts that I find extremely encouraging. I mean, 'before & after' is wonderful, but the 'along the way' is where most of us are, kwim? I need to know that 10 pounds DOES matter. :) Keep up the great work!
  • We always buy Caramel deLites, Thin Mints, and Peanut Butter Patties ~ the Caramel deLites are my personal favorites. I only bought one box of them this year & managed to ration them carefully. THAT is progress!
  • I know what you mean! Even though we lived in western NC, we could still get to the ocean in 3.5 hours... We've only been here 7 months ~ and we are enjoying it ~ but I do miss knowing that salt water could be reached rather quickly if the need arose. Best wishes for your new journey here!
