I like Will.i.am station when running. Suggestion: Don't like any Black Eye Peas Songs on there unless you really, really like them, they will take over your station!
-
Congratulations!!! Amazing dedication! I can relate with not enjoying running but doing it anyways- I hate the process but the end, when you can bask in the feeling of accomplishment, is so worth it. :)

water chestnuts? They have the same crunch and both have mild flavors. Jicama has the same texture and taste, too.

We make bread stuffing from scratch with little crumbles of breakfast sausage and extremely good quality sage. Smells amazing when it is cooking!

That's a stereotype. My very traditional family doesn't watch TV nor unbutton our pants after eating. We sit at the dinner table and talk to my grandparents or play with the kids or go outside and actually play football or bags.

My family is traditional, we have turkey on Thanksgiving, ham on Christmas, ham for Easter. All the meals are pretty equal in quantity of food but Thanksgiving is definitely more centered around indulging than the other holidays. We make pumpkin, pecan, mincemeat, pecan cream cheese, and apple cranberry pies on…

I have over 100 friends and I try to interact with most of them. I cherry pick the friend requests I get, finding the people who I enjoy reading their posts, food journals, or very active. Over the year I have been on MFP I accumulated quality friends, it didn't all happen at once. Proud to say that almost 40 of my friends…

I get bored with the treadmill all the time, I usually try updating my music list. If that doesn't work I take a break for a week or so until I'm excited to get back and run.

I chop mine into squares, toss in a bowl with a little olive oil, black pepper and salt. Roast in the oven on a cookie sheet at about 350 until browned. Serve on the side like you would with potatoes or use them as a base in a casserole. Simple but tasty. I also use all different kinds of squash in chili recipes as a…

I make White Bean Chili in the crock pot, don't have exact recipe because I make it different each time but this is how it usually goes: 3 lbs ground turkey or chicken breast 1 can chickpeas 1 can white beans of your choice, I use cantinelli 2 zucchinis 2 yellow squashes 1/2 large yellow onion 1/2 bag of frozen sweet corn…

I live in Chicago and this is how tacos look like when you go to an authentic (not tex-mex) Mexican restaurant around here! You have to specifically ask for the "american version" with cheese, sour cream, and veggies.

I eat tacos at least once a week, it's actually one of my low calorie dinner go-to plan. Stay away from a combination of sour cream, cheese, and heavy on the meat. Do meat, one dairy (easy) and the rest veggies/salsa. Corn tortillas are only 50 cals each and you really only need one if you aren't loading up the fillings…

Thank you!! :) I cook almost every night so I'll definitely be looking at these

I never made Cuban food before! Thanks, now I need look up some recipes and experiment

I use my crock pot at least once a week! I would be lost without it. If you cook in large batches, work a lot and want dinner ready when you get home, or meal prep it's a great buy. You can even buy a smaller one if you think a large one would be too much. I would suggest if you are to get one and you are cooking a lot of…

Frozen fruit...let it almost thaw completely in a baggie- there will be juice on the bottom. I mush it all up and put it in my yogurt. Beans and rice is easy to make in advance and will last in the fridge for a couple days or even freeze large batches :) Build it in your recipe maker on MFP, use the cooked weight as 1 gram…

Meh, plain water is okay but I'd rather have seltzer water

I brought in tuna salad for work, but my manager came in with homemade, huge hushpuppies. So I ate one of those instead- So worth it!
-
That's such a good idea! I have little plates and glasses (clear so I can use em on my scale) but never thought of little bowls for snacks.
-
Apples (especially Macintosh) and ginger go great together in smoothies! What type of apples do you have? That will help since different ones are used in different recipes.

You should have seen my face when I saw the "one serving" of cereal! LOL I don't eat it anymore. I can have a bowl of oatmeal and two eggs for the same amount of calories and be full all morning. I have to eat 3 servings of cereal to even be satisfied- much less full all morning.

OP, Look up a recipe and make flatbread. It can't be hard to make! :)

HEYYYY, slow down!! Best thing to do when you are in rut like this is to take a step back, look over your situation, learn from your experience/mistakes, and realize that everyone slips up once in awhile. Make a date for the gym and keep it. Plan your meals for tomorrow and try to keep to it the best you can.

Not drinking pop helps me a lot, I've noticed patterns of my breakouts from on and off giving up pop. Everyone's skin is different, mine is dry. I use Queen Helen Coco Butter (Walgreen's $3, huge bottle) on my face twice a day after my showers. I only use soap if I have to, usually I wash my face with warm water, blot my…

<3 Loki, now I love Mr Hiddleston even more!!

Yeah, food scale. Stop talking about losing weight and just do it! The more you talk about it the longer it will take.

Have you watched her show on TLC? Recently she has been trying to lose weight, she is very aware that she is on the verge of diabetes. Her No Body Shame campaign is for ALL body types, not only obese. It includes everything from lazy eyes to war veterans with amputations. I never heard her say that she's truly happy with…

That's my favorite too, I have them put a splash of lemonade in the chilled one. All drinks under 200 cals, I usually get the hot Nonfat Caramel Macchiato on chilly days. You can substitute anything with milk for soy!
