I like Nike's stuff a lot, I've got some crops from them that I would wear every day if I didn't have to wash them  I got some crops from UnderArmour that I really like as well, but have only had them for a couple months, so I don't know for sure as far as durability after lots of workouts and washings. I think they…

Thanks for the info guys. I'd never heard this before, too bad I already did my workout for today. I'll have to try it out for my squats next week.

My daughter is 2 and I work full time as well. I have to do my workouts in the morning, otherwise other things come up, and I also feel like I'm losing more precious time with my family. I workout three days a week, leave for the gym around 5:15 so I can get a workout in and get back by 6:30 to get everything ready and get…

Added you :flowerforyou: As others have said, my first suggestion would be to get a digital food scale (I got one at Walmart for about $18) focus on getting your eating on track first, try to move more. Once you feel like you've gotten into a rhythm with that, then worry about how to start a workout program.…

Goat Cheese Most of my other staple items have pretty much stayed the same, I just buy more of some things and less of others. I initially bought the goat cheese from Costco as a replacement for cream cheese and now I put it on everything.

100% relate - I don't think I've gone a day in my adult life without chocolate or some other kind of sugar. I also find that once I have one bad sugar day, it's even more difficult to get back on track. For example, check out my food diary for the last two days  I'm sure it would be a great idea to just go cold turkey…

Exactly - I was a runner for several years, and I do still love to run, but my joints & bones dont like the toll it takes on me. I've seen the best results from lifting.

Thank you! :blushing: Shortly after this circumstances led me to excuses and I skipped out on it all for a bit, gained a couple pounds back, but am currently back to this point, doing the program over and the results are consistent. I'm excited to see my results after I actually finish the whole program!

This gives me hope for Stage 2 :flowerforyou:

Just before my daughter's first birthday it hit me that I couldn't ready pull off the whole "I just had a baby" excuse, so I started doing the new rules of lifting for women and kept my eating pretty spot-on. My weight didn't change much, but my size did. This was after Stage 1 of nrol4w. Edited to try & make the picture…

Focus on the things that you have control over. Comparing yourself to other women, especially in a delicate emotional state, is not going to be healthy for you. It feels pretty impossible, but if you start to compare, don't dwell on it and try to redirect your thoughts to positive actions you can take right now. You can…

For cravings, my big thing is usually chocolate, so I get some dark chocolate and keep it in the freezer. Sometimes I still go overboard with it, but as long as I'm eating it consciously I usually get to a point where I'm satisfied enough and haven't blown my day off track. As far as the bloating - water. All the water.

^^^This sounds like a pretty good idea - you can bring in your MFP food diary and show the doc what you've been doing and eating, and the results you've had already, which is awesome. You could tell the doctor exactly what your mother has been encouraging you to do and pose it as a questions of whether you should just be…

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm a little nervous about Stage 2 - it's got the first few exercises I've never done before and I go to a big gym, but I'm sure that'll pass after a few days. runzalot - is it sad that I can't imagine not having a scale for 4 months?! good on you

I have one kiddo and work full-time but I don't think I really do anything super special to work out, I just wake up before anyone else and go to the gym in the mornings. If it doesn't happen first thing in the morning, it just doesn't happen. My hubby doesn't workout tho, so it makes it easier not having to fit his…

Amazing transformation! Kudos :drinker:

Hi Everyone, I'm new here and close to the end of Stage 1 - loving it so far. I've completed Stage 1 once before but never moved on to the next stage, so I am recommitting to finish the full program this time through. I'm looking for some friends that eat along the lines of the program also. I'm far from perfect in my…

Absolutely wonderful! I admire your hard work and dedication to each other :drinker:

I've been a runner for about five years now and mostly: 1. Get some good running shoes - go to a specialty store where they can analyse your walk and suggest a pair with the correct cushioning for you. 2. Concrete is bad, avoid it when you can. Asphalt is actually * marginally * better because it has just a little more…

I weigh about every other day - but I only update MFP every 2 weeks. This helps me make sure the overall trend is going in the right direction but not going crazy over daily fluctuations. PS - welcome!

Haven't fully given up any solid food that I really like, just using IIFYM. I have pretty much given up alcohol, though, because it just makes me feel like crap when I want to workout, and even when I have indulged and gotten buzzed I've regretted it because I didn't want to get to that point...also a family history of…

I did squats this morning at 95lbs (25 on each side). I'm just beginning New Rules of Lifting for Women (starting week 3) - I've always been a total wimp when it comes to leg strength and I've been getting noticeably stronger and loving it!

This is how I feel about it exactly. Especially that last line.

There's no requirement for me to lose fat for my career, but I work in public affairs so the more people I've got connections to, the better my career does... and frankly, it's a lot easier to go up to someone I don't know and strike up a conversation if I'm looking & feeling my best, plus people (men) are usually more…

Hi there, added you. I'm a mom of a 2 yo little girl. I *technically* managed to get back to my pre pregnancy weight, but that was also the most I'd ever weighed in my life, so it didn't really feel like that much of an accomplishment :/ I'm mostly focusing on my body fat % and getting stronger but cutting weight at the…
