  • OMG I laughed so hard my coworker started looking at me funny! If your problem is a texture thing I've found that "soaking" my shakes help. I make it up the night before in a blender bottle and then put it in my fridge and let it sit overnight. In the morning I shake it back up really well and add a few ice cubes to make…
  • So I read through this thread and when I finished I got up to pee! No it wasn't the power of suggestion, I really needed to go! I took my water bottle with me because the water is back by the bathrooms. I go AT LEAST once an hour if not more. And every time I refill my water. I'm sure some of my coworkers think I'm nuts…
  • Just my two cents on this. My dad had GPS 5 years ago. It was not something he wanted to do, it was something he had to do. Most of my life I remember him being on one diet or another and failing. For many years this was his fault, and he admitted and accepted that. When his weight became a much much more serious issue (he…
  • I started at 227 with a goal of losing 67 pounds. Is that close enough?

  • Good call eliztenn! Bottom line, it looks like this may be a sodium issue not a carb one.
  • This ^^ just made my day! Poor girl. She's just looking for some advice because it sounds like in the past she just gave into whatever cravings she had. Now she's trying to find a smarter and healthier way to get through this time. I wish I could help the OP but even though I am a lady, I don't have periods thanks to depo…
  • As long as you're under the 2300mg you should be ok. I try to keep mine under 2000mg just to be safe. Increasing your water should help. I drink a minimum of 100 ounces a day. It was suggested to me that I drink at least as many ounces as half of my body weight. I think it's been a huge help. I'm down almost 21 pounds in 5…
  • From what I understand the carmel nuts bars are ok during the weight loss phase as long as you only eat one a day. And you do have a little more leway on carbs. The goal is between 80 and 100 a day. I am usually between 85 and 95 and I have still been loosing so I'm not sure that it's the carmel nut bar that is causing the…
  • Maybe you could try sucking on a sugar free hard candy? I've done that before also.
  • I drink water and chew gum. I have found for me that chewing gum fools my body into thinking it got what it wanted. My jaw muscles are working just like they would be if I was eating something but the water is actually what's going into my stomach. It does the trick every time as long as I am not ACTUALLY hungry.
  • You're absolultey right! My parents taught me how to chew all foods, except for that! Damn....
  • Lots of people have said this in varrying ways but it's great advice. Going cold turkey often leads to binges. Slowly making the changes can be a lot easier. I used to drink a 24 ounce Rockstar every single morning. I had to or I wouldn't wake up and function (or so I led myself to believe). It was my breakfast essentially…
  • I would love to join! I will say up front though that I'm getting married next weekend so I won't be active on here for a few days. If you would rather not have me join the group because of that I completely understand.
  • I looked at your logs. You usually have 0.67 of a serving size. Does this mean when dining out you ALWAYS only eat 2/3 of the meal? For example, you didn't finish your Jimmy John's sandwich, you ate exactly 2/3 of it? (If you did I applaud you. Jimmy John's is a weakness of mine and I've been avoiding it because I know…
  • This is the recipe I tried the other day and it was really good. For the plan I am using this counts as 1 serving. I realize everyone does things differently. This was really simple to make and tasty! I swapped out one of the regular laughing cow cheese wedges for a garlic and herb one and had a nice garlic flavor to my…
  • Seeing results definitely helps keep me motivated. In the first week I lost 6 pounds. I just finished up week 5 and I'm down a total of 19 pounds. The non scale motivators are just as important though. Even though I'm eating less I have energy that I haven't had in years. Last night I went on a 4 mile walk! 6 weeks ago my…
  • Don't get me wrong. 90% of the time it's pretty easy for me to say no. I know that even though that junk my taste good, it's not what my body wants or needs. But will power gets bent a little bit when the junk is constantly paraded in front of me. To everyone else I work with it doesn't seem like a big deal to just have…
  • Thanks for sharing this!
  • Sandy's Kitchen has GREAT ideas! I was so excited when I found her blog because I was tired of eating chicken and broccoli or salmon and broccoli, or chicken and salad. It gets boring and repetitive. I am in love with the cauliflower pizza. We tried cauliflower mashed potatoes last night and they were great as well. I'm…
  • I have a dumb off topic question... How are you able to add the little weight loss ticker to the posts? I can't figure it out!
  • Thanks Jennifer! That's really encoraging. I just discovered a blog that has tons of lean green recipes. It makes me excited to make those meals again. Salad with meat gets boring really quickly. But cauliflower pizza? Yum! Orange Chicken? Yum! I've noticed that good lean green meals help me stay on plan because I'm not…
  • The frosty is super easy and super good. 1/2 cup of cold water, 1 cup mini ice cubes or crushed ice, 1 package of pudding. But it in the blender and let it go until the ice is all broken down. It's really good.
  • I went from working in retail as a grunt and being on my feet all day every day, constantly moving to working in an office. I gained 40 pounds in one year from all of the goodies that people bring in, the lunches out with the boss, and the candy that I ate out of complete bordem. I am working on eliminating these…
  • That sounds amazing!!! Thanks for sharing! I will be giving this a try as soon as I can get home to my blender!
  • All of that is great advice! I have done a "frostie" with my chocolate pudding and that was excellent! I never thought about doing it with the cookie or brownie. Do you use a specific recipe for those? I will DEFINITELTY be giving that a try.
  • I know you added me yesterday but I thought I would say hello on here anyways. I too am new to this. I started on April 8 and so far I am very pleased with my results. I also have hypothyroidism and didn't even think about how it might effect my weight loss. So far I've lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks but all I'm really…
  • Thank you for responding. I was begining to get discouraged on here... You both have a very good point. Today marks two weeks for me and I have lost 12 pounds so far. Maybe down the road condiments will slow my weight loss but so far I seem to be doing well. I'm not crazy with the condiments ever, but I will try for now…
  • I am not having any luck with these. I order the garlic mashed potatoes and was very excited because I love mashed potatoes so much. I was hoping that having these would curb my cravings for the real thing. Not so much. I have tried reducing the water, cooking for longer... In the end I just can't do it. I just ate most of…
