My initial goal was 30 pounds. I reached that in about 3.5 months. Now my new goal is down a total of 50. I started with MFP in April and increased my workouts to 5-7 per week. I still eat ice cream and drink beer on occasion. I couldn't keep this up if i wasn't able to indulge at times. I started riding my bike the last…

It completely depends on what your goals are. If you want to get stronger and larger muscles lift heavy and fewer reps. If you want to tone then go lighter more reps. Larger muscles burn more calories.

I was in a similar situation with injury and killer shin splints. I decided to reduce my runs to every third day. I bike on the days in between which has still given me some cardio and calorie burn but shin splints are a thing of the past now. I feel great. Good luck.

I don't count cleaning but i certainly count mowing the lawn. Almost 2 hours of at least moderate activity.

This is just fabulous... Thank you all!!!!

I LOVE to snack. Thats why I started getting things like broccoli, carrots, greek yogurt, green beans, pineapple, apples. My fridge and lunchbox are filled with these that way I can eat all day long and not worry about it.

I would recommend not skipping around. I have added a cardio here and there but always do the one assigned for the day. I absolutely love speed 2.0. Wish I could do that one every day. Good luck:wink:

MFP is so easy to use, I don't know why you would write things down. It does everything for you. I log my food while I'm eating it. Such a simple tool I can't think of why I would want to stop. I also use it as kinda of a game. Sometimes if I go over my calories I change my goal to see if I only wanted to lose 1 pound per…

I will just tell you what I have done that has worked for me. I set my goals up to lose 2 lbs per week and maintain a sedentary normal daily activities. I actually think my lifestyle is more lightly active but I wanted to make sure I was keeping under my goal caloric intake. I have occasionally changed my lifestyle and…

Lots of planks in both Alpha and Beta for sure. Not a crazy amount of push ups in Alpha but Beta seems to have quite a bit.

I was wondering what I will do when I finish as well. So far I think I will stick with Beta. I might start over at Alpha though and see how much better I can do those. Just want to continue something.

Start today its fantastic. I am on my second week of Beta. I absolutely love this program. It is not easy but certainly doable. I have never had so much fun sweating my butt off.

I have edited my post to state "half" my caloric intake, really important missed word. Sorry for the confusion.

I have only been on this website for a little over a week so by no means am I an expert but I will tell you something that made me realize why I wasn't losing weight before I started counting calories. I started eating "healthier" and working out about 6 weeks ago. I wasn't really seeing much weight loss at that point. I…

This is absolutely great for beginners. I have been inactive for almost 15 years. I started this 5 weeks ago. I was about 50lbs overweight. I lost 18 pounds in the first 5 weeks. I don't expect that rate to continue but am very pleased with my progress.
