Hey, just thought id add my experience.
Just completed 2nd week of Beta. previously have done insanity few times over, although not all in one go. most iv managed is about 7 weeks before some kind of injury.
Anyhoo, iv a mixed relationship with T25. i don't find it as fun as insanity, but its getting me results and I'm happy that I'v not picked up any injuries.
iv been lazy about taking measurements, so can't really comment there..but visually i know inches are coming off. Total weight loss so far is about 2kg. Iv noticed my muscles are growing too so all in all I'm happy enough. I don't get much of a burn despite going hard. maybe 180-200 calories at most. with the lesser workouts yielding only 130 or so.
im in it for the long haul so will be looking at gamma after this or may mix up beta and insanity after i complete this program.0 -
Im starting week 5 of alpha tomorrow!11 lbs down so far!! Can't wait to start beta!!0
-
I did it back in October it is a great program0

I am starting my first round tomorrow morning. Can't wait to start feeling better. I get a 3 month break from nursing school and I have been inactive and eating too much for 2 years. Looking forward to encouraging each other. Does anyone know of any challenges. What is everyone's take on Shakeology?0

I'm not sure about challenges on myfitness, there's a new one starting for insinaity! I think it would be great to have a wee challenge or post on here for T25!!!
I've joined one on Facebook but would defo be keen for one on here too, just to give & gain motivation & support!!!
I'm inUK so never tried shakes, there are similar ones here but again never tried them!!!!0 -

I love shakeology! I have the chocolate one and I honestly feel like I am drinking a chocolate freakin brownie it's so good! Also, I can already notice a total difference in my skin! It's so much smoother and my acne I had is clearing up! Definitely recommend it.0 -

I'm a Beachbody coach and I have a group starting up a 21 Day Fix challenge tomorrow, but any challenger is welcome!! I drink Shakeology every day and can definitely tell a difference when I don't get it. It helps curb my cravings, increases my energy, and my hair and nails grow like crazy. I try to get a balanced diet, but it takes care of the rest. There's a sampler pack available if you wanna try the flavors before you decide. Just let me know.0 -
This is absolutely great for beginners. I have been inactive for almost 15 years. I started this 5 weeks ago. I was about 50lbs overweight. I lost 18 pounds in the first 5 weeks. I don't expect that rate to continue but am very pleased with my progress.0

I am also starting t25 week 3. My weight is staying the same, but definitely gaining muscles and losing inches. I wish I wasn't so fixated on the number on the scale, I am working my *kitten* off every workout and doing two a day somedays. Scale won't budge. My diet is around 1300 calories a day so it's in check. I know it's working just frustrating to not be dipping
Not a specialist, but aren't 1300 calories too little for a man?! The absolute minimum for women is 1200 and this is if you do nothing all day long. And from reading a lot on the matter (as I too am blocked on the scale from not eating enough), I'd recommend you doing some additional looking into it. I'd recommend the Eat, Train, Progress group (link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/10118-eat-train-progress) - they have some great posts with tons of explanations and they do offer advice to anyone who needs it.
That's kinda what I was leaning towards, body is probably holding onto fat thinking I am starving it. as I track my food and exercise through my apps, my calories go up. So some days my programs want me eating 2000 calories but damn that's hard to do. I feel way too full after like 1500 I can't imagine 2000
I will check out that group thanks!
If you eat 1300 calories... I think you are starving. Even if you're not feeling it - you get used to it... But yeah... definitely look into it and ask for advice in the group. Good luck!
I agree - you're not eating enough. The T25 Nutrition Guide suggests you should be eating 1600 calories.0 -
My husband and I just started Week 1 Alpha on Sunday. He is in better shape than I am so he tries to keep up with the workout. I follow the modified version so it's lower impact and try to pick up to the regular workout whenever I can. We work out in the evenings, and I really like that it's only 25 min so even if I'm beat from work, I can muster the energy to last that long. Definitely feeling a lot of soreness which I hope will get better in a few days.
Did anyone else start with the modifier version (i.e., follow Tanya <g>)?0 -
Just finished my 2nd round of T25...but I'm continuing through with Beta to stay in top shape!0

Heck yeah. Tanya is my BFF :flowerforyou:
Took a few days break. With my weird schedule I was never going to be able to follow the M-F recommendations. Did the Ab Intervals today. Getting out of bed tomorrow should be interesting.0 -
You also have to remember that you may be replacing fat with muscle. A lb of fat is the same as a lb of muscle, but muscle takes up less room. The scale might not move but as long as inches are being lost it's working!0
-
I started week one before I went on vacation. I did the first three workouts. It really kicked my *kitten*, and I couldn't even do some of the modified moves. It definitely got my heart rate up though, and I do feel like I got a good workout. I love everything that Shaun T does.0

I can't believe I'm almost done with week 4! Gearing up to start Beta in a little over a week! Can't wait :-) I'm excited for new workouts! I'm sad that I don't get to do Speed 1.0 in the final week of Alpha...it's my favorite! I might throw it in a few times just for fun as an added bonus workout!0
-
Did Dynamic Core yesterday- omg, i was bored with that workout . Barely burned any calories. It was plank, abs, plank abs.... zzzzzzzzz
ETA: so far my fav. workout in Beta is Speed 2.0- love the moves ,love the music0 -
I did all of Alpha last year before I had a minor surgery...but the healing from that took FOREVER and I fell off the wagon for awhile. I climbed back on last month and started doing well again.
I just finished week one of Alpha (again) today.
Are y'all following the calorie advice/nutrition stuff? I don't have any of that since I'm borrowing from a friend...I try to keep my intake under 1600 a day, but don't freak out if I'm over (up to 1800). Here's hoping I can stick through this round. :-)0 -
Week four T25 stats...down a whopping 3.5 more pounds for a total of 10.1 pounds! Also lost another inch in my bust and half an inch in each bicep, for total of 12 inches!! :-) On to my last week of Alpha and then BETA! :-)0

Yeah I'm keeping mine at 1600 or so, but don't freak out if I'm over one day and under the next. Just balanced!0 -

Yea the Dynamic Core seems like a waste. Speed 2.0 is great. The Beta bonus disc "Core Speed" is just like Speed 2.0 but harder. It has 1 arm burpees... which I have to say are extremely difficult. I almost did a face plant numerous times. Going to have to practice them.0 -

I was wondering what I will do when I finish as well. So far I think I will stick with Beta. I might start over at Alpha though and see how much better I can do those. Just want to continue something.0 -
I'm going to start the T25 challenge on 5th May (assuming it arrives in time). One of my concerns is that everyone seems to be focussing on their waist, hips and thigh measurements.
However, as well as needing to lose inches and tone there too, I also have VERY flabby bingo wings from previous weight loss, so now I'm concerned that they won't get toned. When I've lost weight/toned up in the past my waist and hips will fit into a size 8 or 10, but there have been occasions where I've had to buy tops in a 12 or even 14 cos they're so big!
Just for the record, I measure myself on the first day of every month and looking back at my records, when I was 14lbs lighter, my arms only went down by 1/2 inch.0 -

The Alpha period (First 5 weeks) is very lower body oriented. Of the 5 Alpha videos only 1 works arms (Total Body Circuit). The Beta period is more rounded and works both upper and lower more equally.0 -
I am starting Focus T25 with my husband today....I know its gonna kick our butt, I am still looking forward to this journey.0
-
I've done a few days of Insanity and noticed that there are a lot of planks and push ups. Is T25 like this and if not, would you advise that I maybe to a few days a week of Insanity as well as T25 to help tone my arms up?0
-
Lots of planks in both Alpha and Beta for sure. Not a crazy amount of push ups in Alpha but Beta seems to have quite a bit.0
-
Thanks. Think will see how I go at Alpha then, and if think I'll be able to cope, I might do the Insanity one that has most arm exercises on a couple of days too, cos they're on display more than legs and hips and I'm more conscious of them.0

Glad to see so many people are working the T25 and sticking to it! I'm on the final week of Alpha, day two. Can't wait to start Beta on Monday! If you wanna join the support group, feel free! (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/20824-summer-slim-down)
Also, I write in a blog every once in awhile and I added an entry today that might hit home for some of you. Check it out! (http://bbcatmcmaster.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/the-ugly-truth/)0 -
hello everyone, just started t25 on monday. I am looking forward to loosing inches and lbs. So far have followed Tanya (bad knees and back) but think once i get stronger i will be able to go back and do it without the modifier. Good luck to everyone here.0
-
Hi everyone,
I'll be starting this on monday. Any tips or advice? I've been doing Jillian Michael's 6wk to 6pack from amazon prime this week to get used to following along to a video.
