my long run days are Wed and either Sat or Sun (can do either)... Woohoo! We are moving this boat!

I usually alternate between clif shot blocks and powerbar gels (double latte flavor)...my gps watch is set to alert every 3 miles and I'll either take 3 blocks or a gel with some water. It really seems to help. I will say the shot blocks take a little getting used to because they're chewy...most of the time I chew a few…

-cross with rose on left shoulder (this is going to be redone as Celtic cross with grape vines and John 15:5) -my girls' names with hibiscus flowers on right shoulder have plans for some other stuff but haven't worked out the details yet...

I am partial to midfoot/front of foot strike, roll to toe and push off...if you land on your heel you are slowing your stride down and "pulling" your self forward. It is better to propel yourself forward...more power, more speed, better form, fewer injuries

haha! I like the way you think!

Why aren't motorcycles an option...I would totally take a Harley Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide  but if I HAVE to choose between cars/trucks ...then the trucks

my two long run days are 5miles on Wednesday and 8 miles on Saturday...those would be the days where I will burn the most... just my $.02

Awesome debrief of the race :-) I really enjoy hearing your perspective as a "seasoned pro" at running marathons since I am a newbie. Glad you were able to enjoy SF and I look forward to hearing all about your next one in Long Beach. Congratulations on an amazing time despite the knee issue!

You guys are so seriously rocking this thing! Way to go teammates! I'm still in "recovery" mode with my bum ankle after Sunday's race but I am hoping to get some walking in tonight. Won't be much but I want to be sure and contribute. Keep up the awesome work :-)

I am currently finishing training for my first marathon (7/31) but have another scheduled for the first part of December (training will start first or second week of August)...I would be really interested in seeing how you incorporated your p90x workouts. I have had a few "starts" on the program but never made it all the…

Haven't been able to contribute the last couple of days since I pulled something in my ankle. It is starting to feel better though so I will give the elliptical a whirl tonight and post after that. Starting to get nervouse about doing my race at the end of the month with this ankle thing going on BUT I WILL finish one way…

Couldn't log on from my computer yesterday and my phone doesn't let me view the message boards...my calories burned for yesterday, July 14= 2692 (ran 20 miles  ) Today (July 15) is a rest/recovery day so no burn today. Great job everyone...we are moving this boat!

Recovery day for this rower today :-) Will shoot for a good run tomorrow a.m. since it's a double. Hmmm, will have to figure out Sat/Sun since won't have time for my long run on Sat and that is triple day... Have a great calorie burning (or recovering) day all!
-
Wow! Super burn...great job!
-
Glad to see that DOUBLE day means double calories and not double workouts! LOL- I was stressing over when I would try to fit a second one in! 796 x 2 calories today, July 8 (I sent you a message GoneWithTheWhinge earlier today...)

Welcome aboard Nate!

Wow, can't believe the attitude about some of this...very disheartening. Can someone please tell me this is still supposed to be a fun and motivational way to burn calories??? If I am not burning calories every day it is likely because I have a commute and a full time job, and two little girls, and I'm training for a…

First full is at the end of this month (yikes!)...done two half marathons so far....Add me!

Sorry guys, July 6 didn't happen for me...knees are twinging. Going to hit 90 mins on the elliptical this evening (California time zone...) for July 7. Re: the Sunday challenge...I will plan on doing long run that day... Have a great calorie burning day all!

Best way to reset that metabolism is to eat more. That is going to be rough coming from a post-anorexia mindset (been there, done that). However, focus on calorie dense foods (nuts, proteins generally...). The calories you eat should include the calories you burn in exercise so that your body doesn't think it's still in…

bump it up

awesome! I'm in :-)

Can you burn the calories whichever way you choose or must they be done on an erg? I am training for some races (running) and can't give up the running but I also have an erg and wouldn't mind getting back on it... :-) If I can still do the running I will jump in a boat!
