As someone said, YOU're the success story here :) My experience? Walking every day at least 30 minutes. I have started to run after some weight loss. Not using any particular "diet", but trying to fit my macros and eating at deficit. Result so far? 40 lbs gone :) 50% of my journey I'd say. Way to go!

I think this is the best way to live :) No diet has ever done anything near what I've accomplished by learning to eat smart and be conscious of my own life choices (eat, exercise, health). You're on the right path!

You get a sense of community when you add friends in MFP that will cheer with you with every success and will be with you with all your struggles. Welcome! You got this! And, feel free to add me if you want to your friend list :)

I walk every day. I think that's still my main exercise. After losing some pounds, I started riding my bicycle, then some running, bodyweight exercises, etc. But I still walk at least 2 miles a day. That, combined with the food tracking, has been the key to get healthier. Go out and walk! enjoy!

Amazing! congratulations! I know that feeling... with every step you feel great! and in your mind: "whoa! I'm doing this!!" Way to go!

Wow. This is an eye opener!

You're doing great! 1 or 2 pounds a week is a good rate. Try to stick to your macros (carbs, fat, protein), and make the exercise an habit, and you will see results. Be patient, and keep your spirit up!

tl;dr? -> Just move. A little is more than nothing. :) I want a cheeseburger now... with cheese.

Amazing results! I vote for calisthenics/bodyweight training :) I prefer it over weight lifting, and your experience has just confirmed I'm on the right path! Thank you for sharing your story, very inspirational!

Welcome! we'll be glad to help you to stick to your goals... Remember, this is no horse race. Steady, firm steps, no matter how small, that's what counts. Keep a positive attitude, keep the hope, and keep logging! you will reach your goals and more before you think.

Great stories! My NSV, I found I'm now capable of running upstairs for 6 floors without stopping to die!

Bottomline, I guess, this is no exact science. Why is this option in MFP? so anyone who wants to log it, can log it. Is it exact? I doubt it. OP, I would take it as a guidance, but not as exact value. In any case, doing a quick search in the forums, I found these threads that could give some light:…

I think many have pointed out this but, when thinner means healthier, it will be reflected in your skin, your hair, your eyes. Sometimes, extra weight will hide some wrinkles in your face, and when you lose that weight, those wrinkles will be noticed... but in general, extra weight often means bad health, and that will be…
