Usually a protein shake made with frozen banana made in my vitamix and a nut-based protein bar w/coffee. This week (spring break) it's fried eggs with 1/2 a GF bagel and coffee.

I lift things up and put them down. ;-) My preferred exercise is strength training. I use cardio equipment for warming up beforehand. I also walk outside, dance around the kitchen with my kids, and play 1:1 basketball with teenage boys a couple times per week.

So, in your opinion, while eating at a calorie deficit, regardless of the nutrient percentages, a non-beginner cannot gain muscle.... I'll be working with a powerlifting trainer later this week, perhaps I should not eat a deficit that day.

I do not have measurements from when I was 270 (in 2003 after a VLCD and cardio only.) I do have them from 396 -> 320. I haven't taken new measurements anytime recently. Will do that again eventually. I have been trusting how my clothes fit and the strength increases.

I gain muscle... and I am not a newbie. I am obese but have been lifting for 4 years. I wore the same clothes (not just the same size, but some of the same exact clothes) at 320 as I had years earlier at 270. I am currently on a deficit and had a new personal record for bench press as well as going up on deadlift weight…

I started at 396 in 2011 and got to 320, but more recently started at 350 on 2/1/15. Currently I'm at 330 and aiming for under 300 by my birthday in late June. My main exercise these days is my weightlifting, so my LBM means I'm a little leaner than the numbers suggest. I'm game for more support friends too.

I like to use bib lettuce as my wrap. Been wheat-free (allergic to wheat) since 2000 and the gluten-free options are great now.
