  • Any time I'm in a tempting situation my mantra becomes "One moment on the lips, forever on the hips". I saw it on a Friends episode and got a kick out of it but it really works! Good luck!
  • I am a vegetarian and I have found so many great vegetarian foods that match the real thing in flavor but aren't nearly as high in calories or fat and still provide me with protein. You should really try morning star chik'n nuggets, boca chik'n patties, boca burger original ( every other type of burger really isn't that…
  • I have had a gazelle for a couple of months and it's a good workout but I can't seem to get my heart rate up very high on it. Also, I'm not sure how many calories I burn when I workout on it so I just consider it walking 3.5 mph in the exercise log. It's convenient and quiet so I can get on it and use it while watching a…
  • I have been trying to stay motivated and working out for the past couple of weeks but I am still only dragging myself to workout sessions a couple of times a week ( and doing the bare minimum). I am still keeping track of my calories but just not hitting the gym like I should. Would it be a good idea just to take a week…
  • Sizing is completely off! I went underwear shopping the other day and a I picked up a size 7 and it said 7/L! When did being a size 7 mean being large? It gives people of all different sizes the wrong idea of a healthy size. *sigh*
  • Hello and welcome! I hope this is really a helpful tool in your weight loss. Best wishes!

  • Thanks for the suggestions! I really love kickboxing type workouts and absolutely love being outdoors so both will work great. Best wishes to everyone.
  • Hello! So far I have lost 20 lbs and so now I'm getting down to the nitty gritty last 10 lbs. Everything I've read says I need to do more cardio in order to get the last bit of weight off but I am by no means a runner and I get bored on all of the gym machines really quickly. Does anyone know of any fun and effective…
  • I'm not positive but my gym class wanted us to run a mile in under 12 minutes or so so I would imagine it would be the same. Even if it isn't exactly head on its still a good goal to start with.good luck!
  • Congradulations! You are such an inspiration to me since I just took the plunge from 1400 calories to 1200 myself and I wasn't too sure I could go without the extra 200. I also just quit smoking. Its been three weeks so we both have a long road of staying healthy ahead of us! Best wishes!
  • When I first joined the gym I was the same way. After a few months of going nearly every day I started to burn out.I've taken the past month off of going to the gym and just started working out at home and just generally being more active. Its always great to have options so burnout won't be an issue. Good luck!
  • Tv does really help pass the time when working out. I typically hate everything cardio so I bought myself a gazelle machine and I'll get on it with a movie playing and the time will just fly by.
  • I get really bored with workout machines too so I typically do workout videos and classes at the gym to keep me more motivated . Also you might want to look into yoga or pilates which are both really challenging and easy on your joints
  • I'm so glad you wrote that! I've been in a stuck spot myself and was hesitant to change my calories or workout routine since I only have 10 lbs to go and didn't want to sabotage anything
