I'm on board! I too am cutting way back (once a week, if that, and only if we are having company or at a friend's for dinner). My goal is to make this my new way of enjoying wine, in moderation, once in a while. I have dear goal to reach that I've not reached in my 20 years of trying to slim down. I work too hard…

Fantastic! You should be bursting with pride. That's just wonderful. Enjoy your success!

HEy all! I'm on day 9. Started Dec. 29. I've been experiencing fatigue the last couple of days. Loving the way my clothes are fitting! I've never gone this long doing strict Palo. I usually give in and have wine, then more cheating follows. For me, staying away from alcohol completely is key.

I would like to weigh in on this. I went to the fat to fit website (referenced above) to calculate my body fat and based on that calculation, I have 26% body fat. This, I believe is grossly inaccurate. I have done 3 bf tests using professional hydro-static testing (at Fitness Wave in Newport Beach, CA) since last November.…

You look great! I wear shorts in public and to the gym ... but I probably shouldn't ... I have 17.2% body fat and ALL of it is contained in my butt and thighs ... yay me!

Great job! You look fab!

Very interesting. Thanks for posting!

Everyone had wonderful things to say. Might I just add: please be sure to eat enough calories and fat. Yes FAT!!! It is critical to your babe's brain development and your body will start letting go of the fat when you have enough in your diet. Oh, drink lots of water too. Congratulations on your miracle. I have two boys:…

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! I just told my trainer today that I was going to break up with my scale. Reading your post reminded me to do it. I actually think that the scale causes me to sabotage myself. For instance, if I lose weight, I think I can cheat a little more (which I cannot b/c I'm still trying to shed about 10 - 15 lbs…

You don't need luck. You've got this! Great job! Just a word to the wise: Don't worry so much about the scale. When I got down to my pre-pregnancy weight, my pre preg. clothes were falling off of me b/c I was building so much muscle. Just something to consider if you are lifting. Congrats again. cheers!

Wow. That's great that you let her rude comment inspire you. Were I you, I'd have a little talk with that friend and thank her, then ask her to be a little more tactful next time she wants to drop some truth in your lap. It seems she only cares about how you look, not about your feelings. But that's just me.

p.s. feel free to add me.

I've lost 18 pounds so far. It's all about what you eat. keeping track of what you eat is KEY. That's why the site rocks! I've got about 18 more to go. Though I'm not really looking at weight so much as size, and how I feel.

Yes, this one. I'm surprised it wasn't first on the list. I'll have to check out that Jeff Buckley song though: "You should have come over."

You not only look fantastic, but you look STRONG! Way to go!!!

Definately be breathing out your nose slowly as your face is in the water, then when you turn your head to breath, you suck in a breath, put your face down again and breath out your nose, repeat. you should be able to do at least 3 strokes before you turn your head again to take a breath in. I would highly recommend buying…

Yeah, the heart rate measure really is not the standard anymore. It has more to do with making sure you don't over-heat and don't get oxygen deficient. Baby needs a comfy temp and needs oxygen. My understanding is to keep doing what you've been doing, but take the intensity down a notch or two. Listen to your body paying…

I keep in the freezer until I use it. I ALWAYS either toast it, or grill it (i.e. for grilled tuna melt or grilled cheese.) I don't think it's good untoasted or grilled, personally. But it is very, very good!

My understanding is that you just have to decrease your overall fat %. Me? When my hips and thighs look good, my upper half (from my waist up to me face) looks very skinny and I have almost no boobs. Which, I am fine with, so that's why I want to be 20 to 30 pounds thinner! Of course, I'll have to wait now until after the…

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! I personally am trying to limit my weight gain on this pregnancy (nine weeks along). So far, I have not gained any weight, which I understand is healthy for the first trimester. Then, if you started out being "overweight" when you got pregnant, 20 to 25 pound weight gain is recommended. If…

I wash strap and electrode in the shower with mild soap once in awhile. Every month or so I machine wash the strap. It never stinks.

Hey, I did a Sprint tri on Saturday too! It was my first. I'm in my 9th week of pregnancy and boy-oh-boy was I TIRED after it was all over!!! I was a couch potato the rest of the day. I think it's the first trimester thing. I was going to do the sprint triathlons in July and August, but I don't know. I may have over-done…

Welcome! I quit smoking when I was 22 years old. I started at 13 :frown: When I quit, every time I wanted a cig, I would go for a walk. Soon, I began to jog. I coughed a lot. All that sweating helps get rid of the toxins from the cigs. Anyway, I quit and NEVER looked back. Good luck!!!

Hey there ladies! I would like to join this thread and make some friends with similar goals. I've been on MFP for awhile and was shedding some fat when I found out I was pregnant! My husband and I had been trying to concieve for 2 years (really, really trying for 1 year). We are 40 years old and had pretty much accepted it…

Try to check in everyday. It helps to log all of your food and just making sure you visit the site in the morning helps to remind you to log your food. Best wishes and welcome!
